So my growing nightmare has finally happened - the power went out during my light cycle! :wall: I'm flowering her on 12/12 cycle and the power went off about 5 hrs into my light cycle. The power finally came back about an hour before the end of the light cycle but I just kept the lights off. So basically the lights were on for 5 hrs, and will be off for 19 hrs before they come back on. This is after normal 12/12 light/dark cycle days. Is my plant ruined? Is there something that I can do now to save her? Please let me know, I hope I don't have to end my project early after all this hard work. Thanks!

I think that it should be ok as long as this does not become a frequent thing. You might want to invest in some kind of cheap back up power for it. You can go to any major electronic store (ie: Best buy, micro center, fry's) and pick up a UPS (Uninteruptible Power Source). You plug it in to the wall, your timer into it, and your light into the timer. You could also plug in your pumps and fans if you got one big enough. It uses a battery pack to keep your lights running through short outages. If you are running a low powered light this should work for you but if using high powered lights you will need some kind of generator. A UPS would be to expensive to run a large system. But remember this is for short outages. For outages lasting an hour or longer you should have a generator.

Thanks for the responses guys, I feel a lot better now. Hopefully this is just a one-off thing. As for the battery pack I guess it could work since all I have running is a 250w hps and a small fan. However, this power outage lasted over 6 hrs so I'm not sure how that would work and I don't think I'm prepared to get a generator or anything like that. I'll just hope that this doesn't happen again before harvest time.
