Powder...or Liquid?

I have just begun my transition towards full organic growing, including compost teas. I just have a question about the actual ingredients.

As far as amendments go, is there any reason I would want liquid over powder, or vice versa?

It seems to me that you can get more bang for your buck when you get the liquid extracts for most amendments, however I could also see that it would be more beneficial to have that surface area, and raw material brewing as well.

Any type of insight would be appreciated.

I actually think the opposite..you get more for your money using solid nutes, I usually use liquid used solid this last run and I like the way the liquid easily integrates into the water..I feel like the solid mix I use is sort of extended release even though it doesn't say so..Idk I kind of prefer the liquid

dry nutes are cheaper. Liquid / bottled nutes are not organic no matter what they say. There's chemicals that they don't list. Stick with dry nutes.

True organics or living organics really steers away from bottled anything with a few possible exceptions. Dry amendments are best mixed globally into a soil mix allowing the microbes to break them down hence making the nutrients available to the plant. Afterall, alfalfa meal is just alfalfa, kelp meal just kelp, etc, etc. These things have be be broken down for the nutrients to be extracted. A little worm castings, molasses and pure water tea go along way in a properly amended soil.

hyroot I think that's just not true..while the regulations are lax and many are not truly organic, many are and those that aren't are usually still something id be happy calling organic and feel better buying than outright chemical nutes...roots and general organics are two good choices imo

those arent organic either. synthetics and heavy metals check with department of agriculture. they have to register their products, disclosing all ingredient to be able to legally sell.

You have to ask what you care about in the organic nute...are you a weirdo that doesn't want anything but plants and poo Guano going into anything you smoke might be better off solid..if you're goal is only to use nutes that aren't bad for the environment and are made from renewable resources, most organic nutes will be fine for you I think..I personally don't care if they use a minute amount of something non organic..

What makes heavy metal non organic..chelated mag is heavy metal no? Yet necessary for a plant to grow??

What would make these products inferior organically speaking?!

I didn't mean organic nutrient lines as much as the amendments (liquid kelp, humid acid in liquid form, etc.)
I apologize, took a few dabs before posting. i was talking specifically about brewing compost teas, and if it would be better liquid or powder.

Two main ingredients are worm castings (solid) and molasses (liquid). You can add some fish (liquid) and/or kelp (solid) in moderation.
Not a lot of options on the format of the ingredients...

fyi - I try to get the best ingredients I can, and I am OK using bottles. I got two kinds of fish in bottles, molasses, and I am using up an old bottle of Big Bloom.

That looks like the warning on the alaska morbloom bottle.

The 5-1-1 fish dont have that on the lable
so I assumed that morbloom was the
same. I eventually read the lable.

I get that the topic is individual amendments not.

Kermit. I care for using fully organics, which is why I try to stay clear of rooting hormones. I don't care if it's not harmful, if it's not organic it could have a side effect. Not worth taking and organic bud is superior why add chemical to it just because you don't care if it's not a harmful chem?



Side note one 5lb bag of quano will make a ton of them bottled quano mixes. You'll pay 30 ish for 11lbs and you'll use 1 tbsp per gal increments, the bottled stuff you use tsp/tbsp increments and pay $15 per quart. Easy math senior.

Only liquid in my brews is the molasses...I like EWC, humisoil, glacial rock dust, alfalfa and kelp meal. I use this brew 2x/month full strength;other inoculations are diluted...
