powder mildew... what would you do?

so i've noticed some powder mildew on the plants..... luckily they are in the first week of flower. I've found a few different types of answers to this problem but was wondering what you have used in the past and what really works effectively I would rather not fool with this while flowers are coming on and would like to take care of it asap thanks in advance....

i had that problem a while ago and what i used to fix the problem was first spray the plants with serenade. It's an organic product that you can use up until the 5th week of flowering. If that doesn't help you out after a week or so of application then your next best bet is to use a sulfur burner. I blasted it and it took care of all the powdery mildew.

Now as a preventative measure i mix one tablespoon of baking soda per gallon of water. I also mix in a wetting agent to help coat the leaves. Then i put in a spray bottle and spray once a week for four weeks in veg.

You can use sulfur to get rid of it. Try to get rid of it all before buds start forming.

I have smoked herb before that was treated with sulfur to get rid of powdery mildew but the buds had already started forming. The sulfur gave the smoke a bad taste and made the smoke have a cool burning feeling so watch out.

I have the serenade and will spray them tonight when the lights turn on. I could get a sulfer burner as well but think as you do that it will make the flowers taste bad I've lowered the RH to 45% and hope that will help a little as well as let the temps get a few degrees warmer 78 deg F (only when lights are on) hope that this will solve my problem

By RH do you mean relative humidity?

Powdery mildew thrives in hotter dry environments so making it dryer isn't going to help anything.

mildew thrives in humid/wet conditions, so lowering your relative humidity is a good step towards correcting it. Don't spray the serenade when the lights are on, do it an hour or two before they actually go on. If you do it when the lights are on then you run the risk of burning some of the leaves and thus causing other problems.

in regards to the sulphur burner, it is safe to use up until the 4th week of flowering. I use it and it doesn't/hasn't affected the bud burns and tastes.

i had powdery mildew once, it covered my rockwool and about the first 6 inches of the stem, i wrapped aluminum foil around the affected areas and it went away. i dont know if the foil had anything to do with it but it worked

Lol. My bad, I'm faded. I said completely the opposite of what I should have said. Lol.

wet bad. dry good

ok so I went and got a sulfur burner that was used and luckily it had a little left in it so I burnt some last night for an hour or so and ordered some sulfur pellets online today. I sprayed the serenade a few days ago and think that it just slowed it down a bit so this sulfer burner should do the trick. I'll keep posted on how it works

Make sure you take out every plant and closely inspect. Wipe off all the powdery mildew you see on the leaves.

You probably already did this but I thought I'd put it out there just in case.

yeah did a slight trim and wipe down also been burning the sulfur.

whole milk 10 to 1 dilution with water and spray liberally

I'm starting to have similar problems, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see/read the results

the milk thing worked well and worked fast. it was better then anything i tried off the shelf and it cost almost nothing and has zero risk

went into the room tonight and the flowering plants now have no sign on the leaves might still have it but good sign, definatley getting better.but also did a trim for some better ventelation. RH @ %50 and temp at 78/60 . Still some PM on the mother but she is REALLY bushy so gotta wait a few more days "hopefully" and it'll be adios Powder mildew... anyway I'm at day 11 of flower now and will only do sulfur till week 4-5 I burn my sulfur for4 hrs every other day right as the lights turn off .Now I hope that its not a problem anymore . Another thing that I picked up is some Advanced Nutrients Scorpion Juice that should help with the PM as well. will update

wow that sulpher burner really kicked some ass... almost all of the pm on the mom is now gone and none of the vegging plants or any of the flowering plants have sign of it anymore sweet i'll keep it updated

well as far as I can tell the pm is now gone totally destroyed

so Now its just maintaining the burner 2x a week and we should be a ok

I have a question. Is it safe to use the sulphur burner the same day you use serenade? Serenade doesnt have oil in it like neem. So wouldnt it be safe to spray serenade let it dry, then use sulphur 24 hours later?
