My current grow is a side by side botanicare and my organic mix.

In my organic mix i see a lot off very small insect and i give them tea every 2 week .

Compare to botanicare side where i use protek (potassium silicate) silicon
No insect in there pot !

My question is do protek will kill bacteria or fungus?
Can i use protek in my organic mix without harming my soil web ?
Is it a salt?

Thanks you guru for helping us !

Potassium silicate won't hurt the microbes in your soil, but excess potassium could cause some nutrients to lock out. So if your soil is already loaded with potash sources it could cause you some nutrient uptake issues.

An alternative to solving your issue would be to use dish soap, not anything antibacterial or scented. Just the plainest dish soap, original Dawn or something like it. Apply 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. It won't hurt your plants or soil (it'll actually aid with water absorption), and after a couple weeks your bugs should be gone. Much cheaper than protekt!
