Pot tea

In an ongoing effort to utilize every part of harvest, I am going to be making a pot tea. I am very happy with my trim usage (butter) and the obvious applications of the buds themselves, but I have yet to find a good use of the stems, well other than lame harry potter wand jokes.

If anyone knows of a way to do this, please speak up, otherwise, this is the plan, and I will tell you how it turns out.

I will be drying the stems until they snap, then I will grind them up, and using cheesecloth (or a finer material if I find it) I will put a tablespoon or two of the ground material into a ball, and tie it shut with a peace of cooking string, and make a little tea bag, I will then brew a cup of tea with it and test the effects. If it takes more than say 3 tablespoons to achieve a high, it is not practical enough to do it in this manner. If this is the case I will then brew a larger amount in a pot with a higher ration of stem/water and see how it goes.

Any thoughts?

it make u feel a little different and have some kind of medicinal benefit in its own area but its not an efficient way to get buzzed

smoke the weed after u dry it after making ur tea water and it will certainly get u buzzed *water cure*

There's small amounts of THC in stems. Id just grind it up, throw it in a kettle, and then strain out the hard stem material left. That way you get ALL the thc out.

Ummm....I really don't think there's much THC in stems, you might as well make tea from seeds.
There is 0 thc in seeds as it is only the genetic material and codes to produce thc, where EVERY part of a marijuana plant has some thc. I understand there is very little on the stems, but there is some, and like I said, this is more of a way to use the stems, I am just trying to find a use for every part of the plant. It would work better with trim for sure, but then I still have nothing to do with the stems and this seems like the best idea I have had for them so far.

I will certainly keep you posted, I chopped today, and where the buds take 4-10 days to dry before I can start curing, I've noticed the leaves take only a day or two to brittle right up, so once the stems snap, I will make it and post the results here. I have enough to try several different amounts to nail down a good strength.

I know it won't be the same kind of high, but if it has a positive effect at all, I have succeeded in my goal.

The grinding up and just brewing it all at once is my last ditch idea. I would like to be able to fit enough into a manageable single serving bag for marketing purposes. If I have to brew it in largert amounts to make it work I am not sure how I could separate it into single servings, where as an individual little tea bag would be quite cool.

When makin pot tea you should remember that thc breaks down much more in things with high fat content. Now I'm not telling you to put pot butter in your tea but you should pour a bit of cream or milk in your water and the tea will be many more times potent.

what do you do with the roots?
Honestly I hadn't thought of that, I guess it will be my next project, but I wont be spending much time on it and expect quick and decisive failure.

Hmm. I bet there is something to this....

I have tried this before with and without milk and really didnt get anything near what one puff on a pipe can get me, this was also when i first started so i have very low tolerance. I have read about it working for some people and your technique could be a lot better than mine (keeping temps in range and using higher quality weed stems and time spent steeping) but i used a big bag of ground up stems so i would definitely try it using a lot more and really watch those temps.

If you want you could also make any type of hash using the trim and stems then use that hash to make your budder with, but i understand wanting to experiment around ;). Stems and old soil could be thrown into the garden, using subcools supersoil makes great soil for veggies after its been used but be careful it might be "hot" still and burn your veggies.

If you're legal then for jokes i would just keep all of the stems you get and build something silly or interesting with it.
