Pot Size

For an outdoor grow, for maximum size plant and yield, What shape pot does mary j prefer? 10 GL. tall or 10 GL. wide? Or does it make a difference? In other words do the plants roots like to spread out more, or tap down more? There has got to be some practical experience with this.I know there are going to be variables, such as strain, soil, ect., but has anyone done a side by side comparison? Just wondering.

Haven't done a comparison, but marijuana roots like to go deep so a taller pot is normally recommended. However 10 gallons is pretty damn big so I wouldn't worry much either way. Either tall or squarish (not shallow) is what I'd go for.
