I was reading this earlier or yesterday(IDK)
Its fucked up to me that so many people were commenting on this story where I read it with so many mentions to race.
Too bad that these guys will be doing so much time for damn weed.
I hope they've got lawyer money

My guess is that they'll probably just get deported and be back eventually, hopefully not though. It's too bad when busts like this happen because it doesn't really hurt them as much as it hurts the ones that actually need marijuana and use it within all the [state] laws, only to have some likely foreigners come in and do this. If only they used all that knowledge it took to put a grow like that together for good!

It is too bad they will be getting in so much trouble for a natural plant, but the way they disrespected the land (us Oregonians HATE that stuff) as well as the threat to the public with their guns and such isn't helping them at all. I do get a laugh though when I read comment of people saying they are afraid to take their kids to the park or stuff in fear of running into these type of operations...because I'm sure this wasn't in the middle of nowhere far from the public hahahaha. I mean shit, bear hunters came across it...unless they were hunting that black bear that was just tryin to play on some school toys a couple weeks back ;)

Another thought...imagine the scent of 91,000 plants in flower, MMMMMMM!

Same shit happened where I live last year and they made a bigger deal about them clear cutting the National Forest than they did the marijuana.

What would that valley smell like with 91,000 mj in flower? Could you imagine walking thru that, man, I'd almost pay to do wander around in there. Hmmmm, how much resin I could collect on my body?

Alot of people believe what the media tells them. "these guys have guns and will kill everyone" How many times have you actually heard of these growers growing on public land using those guns? They are just protecting their crop where they lay their head for months at a time the same way people protect the homes they grow in or lay their heads every night.
and honestly, who is hurting our lands more? Someone cutting down an acre to grow marijuana on or someone cutting down hundreds of acres only to sell the lumber on them?

Well considering the timber companies are required by law to re plant when they harvest...

Wasn't referring to the chopping of the trees though, was talking about the chemicals and trash they found spread all over the grow site. I know they are protecting their crop and with that size the guns might be "needed" if only for their own peace of mind. Looking at it from the side of the law it isn't exactly a situation to take lightly. There is, however, a difference between protecting your own private land and protecting public land that is being used for such a massive (and obviously illegal) operation.

I don't like the idea of all the chemicals it sounded like they planned to use or used. Keep the land/water clean, grow all you want!

What chemicals did they find? I didn't read anything about them so Im going off what you're telling me. Did they find some deadly chemicals or was it plant nutrients?
Alot of times I see the whole chemical thing on the news which they usually only mean the food that helps plants grown when they speak of those DANGEROUS chemicals.

They didn't say. Either way though it's not right, whether they are leaving nutes around or actual "chemicals." Don't forget that even if the chemicals aren't DANGEROUS to us, there is still a thing called an ecosystem that is interrupted, and in turn that could kill the different types of life that rely on that local ecosystem. Introducing something foreign to the ecosystem in such a large matter is going to have bad effects on the life that calls it home.

Ripple effect...

A good guerilla grower will make sure to not disturb the ecosystem as much as possible, keeping their grow as "natural" as possible. Now yeah there are fertilizers and different dirt and such introduced in smaller scale grows, not saying that those aren't detrimental at all, however the larger scale of this grow obviously has a bigger impact. Even if the nutrients or dirt introduced to the area being used for a grow is "natural" or "organic" it can still set off the ecosystem of the area enough to hurt the other life around it. Kind of like when people on survivor are treated to a nice meal and then the next few days they are shitting non stop and having horrible stomach aches, you introduce something foreign and even though it has good effects at first, it could end up hurting more than it helps.

Bigger picture...

How do you know what they do? The media?
I never said I sympathize with them. I hate to see ANYONE get arrested for weed. I never said what they were doing was good nor bad. Like I said tho, I hate to see ANYONE getting arrested for weed.
You claim they take all of these lives and what not(which is not good at all!) but this was a report stating a group got arrested for growing weed not taking heads off.
Who said they were all illegal or any for that matter?
Didn't one of them have a greencard or something?

And to let you know, the united states of america generates funds that supports and promotes violence themselves. You didn't know that this country was one of the worlds biggest bullies?

If you were familiar with the area you would know this is the same group (or a competing group) that grows in the same area of oregon every year. my family has a ranch very near the area they like to grow. they bring crime and drugs with them wherever they go. you can see the influx in crime where these groups move into small towns and bring meth with them. They rape, steal, kill and destroy communities. And if you think i am full of shit take a trip to warm springs or madras oregon and hike from there to Mt. jefferson and into sisters.

Let's not turn this thread into another bull shit argument that just leads to infractions or bans for no good reason. We all hate seeing people getting busted for marijuana, but don't forget about, once again, the bigger picture. Operations like this are essentially just fuel for the government or the anti-marijuana voters to put down legalization or go after MMJ more.
