Ill tell you what the big fucking problem is....The shitty low pay that most americans are being paid, therefore are practically slaves to their jobs....FUCKING HATE IT! We need better pay. I say we create farming jobs here in the us and pay the farmers more than just shit. I believe people should be payed according to how hard their job is. If your busting ass you should be making bank.

Btw i know im completely off topic...im just ranting.... rrrrrrrrrrrrrr

all good responses from my post down as to what the real problems are.

yes we are invading their territory i dont disagree with you, how you got that from my statement i dont know, nor was the statement angled against such a statement.
Pretty much your 'fuck the bears' statement prompted my post.

well, im not saying "fuck the bears" maybe a little, but more so trying to get the point across that the bears are not an issue, there are other bigger issues than the bears like trash, drying up the land, and clearing locations to grow.(i dont support guerrilla growing on the large scale at ALL!)
as the first poster pointed out the whole idea of the news report is to turn treehuggers against outdoor potgrowers, by making a bold statement that isnt quite true.

id just rather see more people, with well formulated opinions against guerrilla growing rather than them just taking it for a fact, that its bad, because they read about it in a new article.

the real problem in the growing community is the illegal aliens coming up and growing on state park land, they don't give a fuck about the land they are trashing, using harsh ferts, laying out traps, it makes us all look like assholes.

I recently saw a film from Mendocino county, it was a meeting that occurred between licensed growers/homeowners and the sheriff. The sheriff was seeking assistance to eradicate illegal grows, and in return offered to allow each grower 99 plants annually.

1. I like his thinking.
2. Seems to me more local law enforcement would be wise to take this approach.

That's a little difficult to keep track of, no? I mean I can have 20 plants at any time and just say it's my first batch of twenty all year so far...
BUT I'd be happy being able to grow 10-15 personal at anyone time. Even if there were yield per plant restriction, I'd be fine with that. As long as I'm getting my personal and not under, I don't care.

Could everyone please chillout and recognize this "story" for the slanderous bit of yellow journalism that it is?

Poisoning bears is not the norm. If one jackoff did it and was caught, then prosecute him to the full extent of the law for cruelty to animals. Done.

But this whole grower backlash is outrageous. Yes, there are assholes who don't know what they are doing. But by and large, many growers' are prime examples of responsible enviromental stewardship with some even foregoing chemicals entirely and sticking to an organic routine. They live at peace with the land because it provides for them and would never do anything to hurt it.

I know some who responded legitimately care about the Earth, and I applaud you for that. But if you're looking for a true enemy, look no further then the vineyards just like someone before me posted. They are large-scale and perpetrate legitimate crimes against nature.

Or the tobacco farms down south, same story. But because the Booze and Cigs lobbyist firms are well-staffed, you won't see anything come of that.

Now if someone has to shoot a bear to protect themselves or their property, that's up in the air. Personally, I say you're within your rights to do so but I can also see where some might make the arguement about you being in their neighborhood as opposed to vice-versa. If it happens, I guess at least be responsible and properly clean it. Eating nothing but bear steaks for a month might make ya think twice next time. Who knows..
