I wish I knew, I got it today looking for a 20 dome. I tried to Find out but do far, no such. In another note, I've been finishing up a long stint on probation and towards the end I defiantly lost steam and connection to everyone here but now I'm done and hope to re-fire the fire here. Anyway thanks to everyone here for keeping this thread up and I'm looking forward to seeing FHGC in your garden soon :) into flower yesterday: bodhis' mothers milk 1 and 2, cannaventures' la affair 1 and 2. Also a two small GGG monarch og's. Fire away. ..

Looking good SDA can't wait to see that bad boy fired up. I have my ghetto rig a mason jar with a tap in the top but hell it works. Real purge chamber soon but wow what a difference with vac purge.

Chef, what ever came of the Christmas Tree that you got from Bodhi? Not sure of the strain's actual name, but the real piney one.

Hey thanks for the kind words guys.

This project should have happened long ago.

I'm almost done with the chamber build...

Then I need to do a test run, validate the stability, check for leaks...etc.

If I'm successful, I will put together a tutorial on how to do this for about 50 bucks in material, and about a couple hours of labor.

The cost of vac chambers is ridiculous, and I'd love to help out people in my same situation;

Needs hash oil to medicate and alleviate my symptoms, can't afford to pay the 40-50$ a gram for quality oil that has been purged correctly. To those that want to produce their own oil, but can't afford a chamber..

The pump itself, you will have to save for, however...you can score a pump for under 100$ from Harbor Freight.
Plus, they ALWAYS allow a 20% off coupon.. 80$...

I've come to the realization that in order for me to continue to utilize hash oil as a viable medicine, whether with Iso or Butane the oil must be vacuum purged. Solvent residuals can not be present in order to justify medical utilization.

That being said; if you are running smaller batches and spread into a very thin film, a heat purge is ok.

But, I urge you to allow ample time for the solvent to escape, keeping residuals to a minimum.

This is about our health, and in no means a shot at those not vacuum purging.. I care for all of you guys, and desire only the best medicine for my Colorado family.

Happy Sunday guys.

Nice Job on the chamber Sir Dabs! When are we locals going to get together for a dab-a-thon?
You'll notice after you install your pressure gauge that here in the Springs we can only pull -22.5 max due to the altitude, do not fret! It's all good!

Hey guys which vac do you all recommend?
Mine is pretty nice Joe, got her from Harbor Freight.
Brand -Pittsburgh
Micron rating-75
CFM-2.5
I think its only a single stage..

The most critical aspect is the pumps capability to pull a vacuum down to -29.9 hg.

The best vac pump is probably the Yellow Jacket.
But it's cost is capable of inducing heart attacks....

Tbh... All that is needed is 29.9 hg..
If you go the Harbor Freight route, do yourself a huge favor and buy the replacement plan..only like 15$, free replacement for two years, no questions asked, you literally bring broken pump, and they give a new one.

My first pump, I screwed up by ignoring the maintenance stuff, never changed the pump oil.
Broke, wouldn't replace as it was self-inflicted.

But with the plan..I can break it on purpose, and they will still replace.

Could not agree more.

That being said...I just sent you a p.m. :P

Where I'm at it won't pull 29. The elevation only allows 22 1/2ish kinda whack! Maybe a super pump might force it?

Chamber is finished...

The lid is comprised of four pieces of acrylic lexan bolted together to lessen deflection.

The final chamber will have a full inch of Polycarbonate.

There is minimal deflection with this set up... However is holding a full vac with a tiny leak that I have to track down.
Here she is...

The balloon in the chamber is tied and deflated, turn the pump on and the balloon inflates!!!
Science is neat :)

Tutorial coming soon.

As stated by Black Forest..(thank you for that post btw BF)

Colorado Springs elevation limits the gauge reading...

Mine stopped right before the needle hit the 25 mark, and it inflated the balloon.

Still got to get it perfected, but will definitely purge some oil.

The vessel itself is perfect...it will fit snugly in my deep dish griddle, which I will have a mix of sand and rice to dampen and disperse heat...

Super stoked...got to find this tiny leak though.
