post your budget friendly tips for greater yield

I was sitting thinking what are a few tips that would help others to promote larger per plant harvest...especially ones that cost little or no money. Now I know this isn't broccoli and spending money on great strains and nutes will help...but I will give a few ideas that I have found.
1. Use your plastic recycling as containers before they go out.
2. Love superthrive and have even found it at Walmart.
3. Amend native soil for greater results and to avoid filling containers with store bought.
4. Get a good jump on nature...have the plants a good 12 inches when they are going out.

Now a few things I wondered.. plants roots go wide as wel as deep...would a wider hole be as good or better than a deeper hole?

Can you speed up a later harvest plant with lots of bloom nutes?

Anyone ever use their res water from inside on their outdoor crops to get more out of those expensive nutes?

No. The res is 5.8 ph and outdoor is about 7 .

Adjusting p.h. couldn't be an option?

no, you can stress and burn them....

my nutes aren't expensive....yours don't have to be ether...

Guess I was looking at a complete use of the nutes in the res instead of dumping them down the drain.

when i did hydro i would change the ph and use in the garden...(not mjj)

I drain to waste 2-3 gallons a day I was thinking of phing it and using it outside .

ive used inside res water for a plant outside, it wasnt an every time thing i didnt pay attention if it had any effect or not even tho the plant was twice as tall as me

whenever i use tap water for an outdoor plant i ALWAYS let it sit for at least 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate ive never notice amazing results but i didnt see it hurt the plants either

Good plants and yields without much investment? Go organic and start composting! Check out the organic threads for recipes.

Only way to speed up harvest is to flower early.

Wide beds should also be DEEP
They go hand-in-hand ask any vegetable gardener that uses wide rows and deeply tilled raised beds with organic methods and you won't top the produce from them.

i have experience growing indoors with shallow but wide root beds and its works fucken awesome man, ur branches WILL ALWAYS grow to the extremety of the growing medium, and gives more light penetration and more bud sites per branch.

this spot is for 2 plants fwiw
about width v depth: They're both equally important imo. I dig as deep as I can, until I hit rock, if it's not quite deep enuff then I go wider than usual.




you wouldnt believe the difference in size a well dug hole makes!!!!!

I have alway's grown in containers due to the amount of termites in my area. I read a few posts from people that had trouble
with them killing plants. I was alway's told termites only eat dead wood but I didn't want to risk it. I usually just put my pots in
a trash bag when I see those fuckers under the pots.

I agree and know from first hand experience that taking time to dig a large hole about 3ft deep by
3 ft wide is a HUGE plus for outdoor growing. As for tips for yield, in my experience top the plants a couple
times then tie them over, pinch a few branches now and then till you hear them crackle or pop and the
lst makes a big diffence. Main colas everywhere!

Number one thing I have found to increase yield is the more water better, I had the same size holes same fertilizer but it was a hot and dry summer. I averaged 1-2 ounces per in my plot that rarely got watered and 5-6 ounces per in the plot that got watered regularly.

Always in the ground. Kellog n rich @ the depot. Great mulch topper loaded w/goodies including bat gauno and worm castings! And all the water she wants.

Plant bigger, later.....You'll get just as good of yield from putting out a 24" plant in May-June, as a 6" plant in March-Apr. Big plants put out late, are Money!
