Post harvest questions

I harvested my medical crop which should be a happy time, but I do have a slight disappointment in my yield. I had 6 plants and two had issues early but they healed up and still produce some decent flowers. I ended up is 17 1/2 oz and 27g of dried keif from dry ice. I set a goal and did lots of reading and was hoping to yield 24 so I could donate more to some needy medical people with fixed income.
I have 2 600 watt hps reflector hoods, I grow in 7 gallon grow bags ith vermifire soil. I use most of the fox farm lineup and start at 1/2 strength and move up to 3/4 feeding last 4 weeks of flower. I also suppliment with molasses every other week. I top my plants and do some LST to get more tops. My room is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 framed in room in back of garage. I use a portable AC this time of year. I don't use my carbon filter and fan this time of year because garage heats up too much and it would suck all my cool air out too fast.
I am using White Widow, THC Bomb clones.

Would anyone have any pointers to increase yield? This is my second grow. Is 17 1/2 oz ok with my experience level. Everyone here has been very helpful and I look forward to hearing from some fellow growers.

How was the overall health of your crop? Did they ever get over-fertilized or under-fertilized?

How packed was your grow room? Can you veg them longer and do more with LST, supercropping, or screening?

What are your temps like? That is a lot of wattage for such a small footprint and I imagine it could get a little warm.

That's just under 3 oz per plant, which isn't too bad, but methinks you should be doing better in 7 gal containers.

How long did you veg them?

A little over fertilization right off the bat and it caused issues for three weeks in vegi stage. Temps were good except for near the last 3 weeks it was like 87-90 for 2 hours of the 12 hr light cycle. I plan on vegi extra two weeks this time.

4 weeks. Maybe longer but my vegi lights stink. I use a closet for clones with t-8 lights. Will vegi extra two weeks and see where it goes

Give em' two months in those 7 gal containers, if that's what it takes to grow nice thick branches and stalks.

I bet you get DOUBLE the harvest next time bro.

Agree with Wilksey on both points.:hump: You should be able to get more from 7 gal pots and you should probably veg for 8 weeks minimum. Especially if you run into early issues that delay growth. Actually, I'd say a bit over a lb with 6 plants that had problems and just 4 weeks in veg ain't bad.

Yep, next grow it's 3 pounds or BUST! Well, maybe BUST isn't the best word to use here :eyesmoke:

Good Luck :peace:

Well there you go, plenty to improve on right there. Be careful vegging 2 extra weeks because you may not have the space for them if all are healthy for the full grow.

I can't imagine vegging 6 plants for 8 weeks in a 5.5'X5.5' area. Maybe 4 plants.
