Post-germination: How to plant in medium

How does one properly plant the germinated seed in growing medium?


SWIM is using a 6 plant DWC system. SWIM hasn't germinated the seeds yet.

SWIM's system resembles this (except 6)







SWIM has:

Hydroton Growing media
Rock Wool cubes


So what is the best way to get started? Germinate the seeds separately then insert them or directly in the system?


SWIM would very much appreciate a step by step procedure. SWIM is sorry for what seems to be relatively basic knowlage question but was unsucessful searching for the answer, specifically details of how to do so.

Germinate the seeds in wet paper towel, then place root down in rockwool cube or other similar medium. Or place seed in cube and keep it wet.
When it gets going, maybe one set of true leaves, place cube in hydroton. Simple! Good luck.

Say SWIM germinates seeds using paper towel method. Then place the seed root down in rock wool. At this step should SWIM keep the cubes under the light source?

Also how soon are veg nutrients needed for system's water?
