So as the title states, I have a mild infestation of fungus gnats and I just used a 1:4 peroxide:water soil drench to kill of any larva of the fungus gnats. The other day i even managed to see one of the little larva close up, thats when I knew they werent aphids lol and i knew i had some other problem. Anyways, after the drench i layered about 1/4'' of perlite on top of soil to prevent adults laying more eggs in the damp soil. My question comes in here: does the h202 soil drench kill of all of my good and beneficial bacteria? Just want to know if it does. Either way I use great compost teas and will be applying one tomorrow in the morning to restore or maintain my soil food web.

H202 has no effect on Gnats. IT works at the molecular levelto attack and kill bad molecules that create dieses. It will not kill gnatseven at higher than normal levels. However if you do have Gnats, it is a goodIdea to use H2O2 to keep the roots clean since the gnats are damaging them.

You need a BTi product, like Gnatrol or any type of larvacide.
