Gonna use this as a kind of journal to keep from spamming daily accomplishments. It'll be my daily happenings, pics, and anything else. All feedback welcome.
Went on a walk today, down my favorite drainage. Goes from behind house and goes 1/4 mile to back property line. I have 3 main pasture plateaus on my farm. Pastures are at top and then about 200' fall very quickly in each valley between them, and then one bottom pasture.
We call this the swimming hole. Only about 2 ft deep, but big enough for 3 adults to submerge up to chin. Nice to cool off when it's 100 out.

This is my cave. Probably enough to keep you dry during rain, but just as likely to fall on you, and probably full of snakes, so I sent the dog in.

Some cool ice
20180202_170253.jpg 20180202_170216.jpg Then crossed the stream and went straight up 50' to other bluff line. More neat ice, from running water splatter.

And threw a stick and made dog run clear back to the bottom to try to provide some perspective.

Try and spot the puppy. But still steeper than it looks.

Cold night tonight. Got the woodstove fired up. Our only source of heat, and pretty fun to boot.
This tree was hit by lightning. Wood is crazy dense. Hard to get lit, but amazingly hot coals once it's going. Took the house from 68 to 78 in just over an hour with just 6 smallish splits. 3 bigger splits will keep us over 70 all night.
No electricity necessary.
Not sure why I felt the need to share all that...must be super high, vaped 3 bowls on walk...oh well.
Outside air on 0...

Morning possum.
First pic is this morning, second is just a clearer picture
Good morning to you as well!
Nice hearth!
Are those lights "in" the rock?

I still have to stain and fit the trim board around the base of my hearth. I had wanted to use our own stone for a hearth similar to yours, but time was more important than pretty, so I built a wood box and covered in tile.

Even though I'm surrounded by trees cutting wood was too much work. I burn corn now for heat. Way hotter than wood and very little maintenance. Ours runs 24/7 during the winter months.

Possum1, you have very scenic land, looks like a great places to get high and trek around at.

Looks like my old stomping grounds as a kid

I thought the same as what @BarnBuster said, could be arrow heads and whatnot

We used to occasionally find them in a creek area under rock formations. Also where we stashed our nudie mags

Mine subsidence eventually made a favorite area too dangerous to fuck around in.

Anywho, subscribed. :leaf:
