Possible 4 Bud 2B Ready B4 Due Date??? Please Help

Hello,

I first want to say that this site is by far the best around. This is my first time growing and could use some help. Here is some info before the question. Started from clone, not sure what kind of bud, not sure what month started was either may or june, grown outdoors only, started flowering I think at end of Aug/ beginning of Sept...oh and I learned from this site, that I have been feeding the girls all wrong...I will explain after the question.

Is it possible for a bud to be ready for harvest, before its due date? I would normally think this is possible, however most of the threads that ask for harvest id, are answered with, 'that type of xyz bud takes 10/12 weeks'. or etc.

I also tried to compare my buds to some of the ones posted on different threads asking for id...but found it a bit confusing because, most of the answers, didnt inlcude the type of high that goes with how the bud looks. For example...the replies to a harvest thread would read...'looks like 1 week longer' or 'go ahead and harvest her now'. I just thought it might make it a bit easier for newbies such as myself to learn if a bud at a certain stage in growth looks like 'THIS'...then it most likely wil keep your a$$ on the couch.

So...I would like to harvest my girls before they get to the 'I dont want to move' stage, and as a newbie, to me they look like they are ready now. Please if some of you pro's can take a look and let me know what you think, it would be very much appreciated.

Just a pic of how she looks almost a month ago:

Sorry about the long post, hope I made some sense.

Well they sure look nice, but i think the current consensus is you need a high percentage of red hairs. You could also check out the growfaq mate it might help you get through.

the stuff i cut three weeks ago is pleeenty strong. of course it will be ready to get you high right now, but i think waiting a week right now with "some" of it, is a very good idea, it should get a little stronger and of course it is still growing.

let them go a week for a good head high and like 2-3 for a body. or pick them now its up to you but if you let them go longer you will have denser more compact buds. its a lil early to pick them now

Hello,

Thanks for that help. I had already read that one and a few other, lots of solid info. The article is great at explaining what you might get if you wait, but it also leaves you wondering which bud looks like which, to get the sedative effects expressed.

I really dont mind waiting...honestly. It's just that, up til now I never knew I could play a role in the type of high. So after reading I could make a choice, I want to try and get it as close to the up high as possible. And from what I understand, if I dont notice the signs correctly, there is a greater percent of creating the couchlock effect.

Also, from reading alot of the threads about not to go by the 'hairs' but instead to go by the 'Trich'...I went to RS and picked up the magnifier. It is amazing what you can see with it. To me, the trich look mostly milky with some yellow/amber, with only a select few looking clear.

I've read to check a leaf that is next to a bud, but does it matter if you check the top or under the leaf?

The pics I posted are around from when they first started to bloom, to what they look like currently. For the long time growers here, could you please take a look and let me know what you think. Keep in mind I'm looking for that 'up' high. I didnt want to piss anyone off on this forum and post to many pics, but if its ok, and you need to see a pic of each bloom on the plant, let me know and I will post it.

Here are just some random shots, let me know what you think...and please keep in mind that I'm trying to get that up high.

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing back from as many people willing to help a 1st timer out.

PS: I forgot to mention the watering issue. Before finding this amazing forum, I thought giving it nuts everytime it needs water would be a very bad thing. So since it was a baby, all the way up till about a month ago...I was watering it, as if I was trying to flush it...with just water. I did give it some nuts but only once every 3 or 4 weeks. To me the girls dont look too bad for not being feed correctly but I could be wrong...you let me know. ;)

if i was you i would start flushing your plant for a month b4 you start pluking it,then you need to dry your buds out untill the stem snaps then u need to cure it by putting it in a glass jarand open it every couple of hours.you will have some bomb ass chronic

There isnt really a certain amount of times you need to feed your plants. Your soil could have already contained some nutes. The plant looks good to me, and I think you did a pretty good job.

I would wait a bit longer as well = )

yea if you have used any nutrients recently makesure you give them 2 weeks plain water at minimun before you chop them if you dont want chemi buds.
and also like green said for curing let them go about a week then the stems should be bendy depending on bud and then toss into jars or good sealed tubbaware and check them daily for like 2 weeks or the more the better.bongsmilie

Thanks everyone again for taking out the time and lending some advice. As for the feeding I was talking about.

What I was trying to say was in the beginning of the grow I didnt know how to feed the plant correctly and thought it was very bad to give it nuts everytime you watered. I had thought you should only give it just water and nothing else. And only giving it a boost of nuts maybe every 3 or 4 weeks.

Please tell me if I'm wrong, but to me the plants look really good (not great) but really good to me...and I didnt even feed it correctly.

Well...a very big thank you goes out to everyone...this forum is by far the BEST around...lots of solid info by people who love the art of growing....cheers ;)
