hey everyone! I am currently at the beginning of a new grow and I am still adding to my setup to improve my grow. I am wondering if maybe anyone here has a portable ac unit with a built in dehumidifier they could sell me for the low? With this I think i'll have everything for a very successful grow. Thanks in advance!

Typical dehumidifiers that come with a portable AC are not that strong. Personally, I like to have my dehumidifier separate in case something happens to the AC. If the dehumidifier and AC aren't one, you don't lose two pieces of equipment in your room, just one.

I bought one for $500, worst thing I ever bought. It was a ac/heater/dehumidifier. It saved my crop, but a regular ac and dehumidifier works a lot better, for less money.

Agreed, my first AC was a portable w/ a dehumidifier, and thought it was gonna work perfect. Ac worked fine, but did not work together well at all. Plus there is very little control for dehumidifier settings on an AC. For example, I use an environmental controller to regulate my dehumidifier staying in the zone I want. With an AC combo you cannot control this setting. If you plug the ac into a controller it will probably only turn it on.

Thanks for the replies and the info! You think it would do the job in a grow tent? If you think it's still better to buy them individually, any suggestions on cheap models that work well?

Depends. What are you intending on using? Light wise. And how's the climate in your area. I'd use dehumidifier in cooler areas. And ac in hotter ones. That's just my .2c

I'm in a hot and humid area. I have a 1000w mh but only running it on 600w rn. Humidity is in the 60's during the day and 90's in the early morning. Then high high 70's morning and reaches high 80's during the day

I'd probably run the ac when it's hottest just to keep temps in range. As for humidity. I guess it depends if you're at high risk of mold. Can't hurt to try keep it under wraps I guess. Better than having to cut off buds and ditch them.
