Poll: Do you add additional drainage to bottom of soil grow

Hey all

So some friends I know put large rocks or small pebbles on the base of their pots then add soil where as i've always just went directly with soil into the pot (perlite included in the soil).

Just wondering if most people add additional drainage to the base of their pots or just go with their soil mix alone.

When I put a layer of perlite at the bottom of my potting soil pot I had to water every day. It displaces the soil volume with no benefit.

I now fill the same whole pot (I do use large perlite mixed in to ocean forest as it is a bit dense) and get higher yield but only need to water every 3 days.

I do, force of habit from wot I was learned many, many, years ago.

Each to their own, whatever works for you, etc.
