Police visiting my Apartment complex while I am at work

So after work I came home and was talking to my girlfriend. She told me that after she had finished the laundry she came home to find 2 police cars outside the apartment complex. Its an 11 unit single story building laid out in an L shape. The driveway attaches to the road at the top of the L and I live along the bottom line of the L all the way on the right hand side. Anyway one police car was parked in the road while the other was parked by the first apartment at the very top of the L. She believe the landlord was at the complex as well. This is the second time in the 3 years I have heard about the police coming out here. Its a very quiet neighborhood with a crime rate of virtually zero. She only caught the end of whatever was going on and she didn't stop, she just kept driving until they were completely gone. This was at around 7 Pm tonight. They have not been back and noone has tried to contact me. I do not feel concerned or alarmed. Should I be?

That aint shit, a few weeks ago 3 state trooper cars pulled into my driveway and turned their lights off as they turned in the driveway. I spotted them and rushed upstairs to chop my plant and start flushing it down the toilet. My wife answered and was asked to step outside. At this point I'm in a panic. Turns out my kid was playing around with the phone and dialed 911. 911 tried to call back over and over again and the line was busy.

Scariest shit of my life, and lucky for me... I did not chop my girl since I figured if they were here for my plant, they would have busted in.

dude, you live in an 11 unit apartment complex.. out of those 11 units, how many people you think live there? I think you're looking too much into it.. just be cool, and remember.. the cops arent after just you

Its 11 apartment units in 1 complex. Sorry for the confusion.

Update : Went down to the police station and asked why the police were there. The response kind of surprised me. Dispatch told me that she had no records on file of the police coming out here and that they may have been visiting one of the tenants, possibly their friend, off duty. That begs the question: Is an ex officer living in my complex?

Like I said man. Ive lived here 3 years and the cops have only stopped here twice. This is an obscenely quiet neighborhood and to see the cops anywhere near my apartment is out of the ordinary.

Don't bust his balls, dude. He was just saying that he got a little freaked and asked if he had anything to worry about. Not everyone can be as super-cool and laid back about potentially getting arrested and sent to prison for something that should be legal.

Its actually a common practice. All police stations offer this service. You can find out some pretty crazy shit about your neighbors if you do this. You don't have to tell them anything about yourself. All you need to say is the police were called to my neighborhood last night and I was just wondering what was going on. Not that strange.

If you say so...

The last thing I would do is draw any attention to myself. I want to be just another grain of sand on the beach when it comes to the police.

Fair enough. I think one of my neighbors has roid rage issues. He was screaming at another neighbor and trying to fight him and his kids the other day. No idea why he did that. It wouldn't surprise me if that's why they came out here that day.
