well it depends on how smelly they are and how airtight your place is. if you want to find more about police dogs and how they work google barry coopers videos called never get busted you can watch them for free online. definitely worth your time. i learned a great deal and consider myself safer having watched them. check em out. remember knowing is half the battle.

I recommend getting yourself Barry Cooper's Never Get Busted DVDs.
He actually bred and trained police dogs and he gives the inside scoop. Great man, in my opinion, so support him and check it out.

in my experience police dogs suck. back in high school health and safety class, they brought a police dog in and stashed some weed in a car somewhere. long story short dog couldnt find it until they moved it to the cupholder or some shit lol

Are you kidding? If people can smell them, dogs can smell them 1000x stronger. And I can smell mine only a couple weeks into veg.

yea nothing smells like weed. nothing. mine smell from the first week of flowering, not too much in veg tho. i can only smell the plants if i open the door

Well like I said these dogs have a nose for this stuff man. I remember back in the day at school they brought a drug dog in and that fucker smelled something in my backpack and I got busted. I had a tiny air tight container with nothing in it but one tiny little microscopic hair in it and got busted I had nothing else on me and I had not even smoked anything that day or the day before but they still smelt it. Ended up getting suspended for 3 days over a fucking piece of a hair

Hide your stash high (ceiling or higher). Make all your rooms smelly by smoking, and even sprinkle some powdered plant-material all around the house.

This is what a friend of mine once did when storing large amount of hash, but he was never raided.
Don't know if it works, but sounds like it might confuse the dog.

well lets put is this way, if you walked thru a field at 6am 12hrs later a police dog could follow your exact trail jus by smell alone.
i grew up with my grandads working military police dogs(royal air force military police) an there is now way on earth you will ever outrun/outmaneouvre/outsmart a police dog and there is no chance you can get past their nose

Here here..... i been in the military too, no fucking way, barry cooper's vids in hindsight are slighlty fictional when it comes to his reasonings, he's makinga buck also!

plus who ever said hide it up high and or confusing the dog then yeah this can be done, the dog handler is just as smart as to know how to read up on the dogs behaviour, body pos and actions, etc, he the handler will pick up on this and then... ya fucked! dont even try it, no one should be worried about busts with dogs, they only use them for certain senario's, if the coppers are gonna bust ya with kicking ya door down shit then they obviously had probable cause and prior evidence, the dea and dog squad certaily dont walk around with their hounds looking for basemant/garage grows!

what ever you do...do not do this.

if that dog thinks his ball is in your wall..in your carpet..you better believe they will be tearing your floor up and your walls down lol..especially if they find plant matter around the house.

and if they dont want to..it takes one call for a fed agent to get in there and do it himself. if they find any drugs. they will not be paying for it.

You live next door to cops?

...best way to deal with that is to invite them to see your 'legal' grow.
no joke. you are a legal grow, yes?
no better protection than a cop next door.

K9 dogs are trained to smell very specific things and act on those scents. Lets go back to the original question of can a dog smell unflowering plants. The chances of police training a dog to smell that specifically is very small i would think. they generally are looking for finished products such as dried MJ or cocaine in general.

So I would think that a dog finding an unflowered plant is next to nil.

A German Shepard's sense of smell is 100,000 times stronger than a humans, the only thing that I know of, that they can't smell through, is wax.
