Please Help

Hiya people, I am new to rollitup, and I am still fairly new to growing.

I need a little help. I am color blind and I am unable to clearly tell what colors my plants are. I know they aren't healthy looking, they changed from a nice ?dark green? to what ever they are now.

My set up is a 10gal rubbermaid container with a fishtank airstone for oxygenation of the water.
My nutes are:
Per Gallon of distilled water (taken to a pH of 6.5)
1/2tsp MiracleGro 20-20-20
1/2tsp Epson Salts
1 tsp Oxygen Plus

My lighting consists of tinfoiled walls, and a HPS250 120v 5.5a 60Hz 250w
Its about 1 - 1 1/2 ft. from my plants

I can't figure out if I have a deficiency, or if its nute burn. So I am hoping you guys can help me... I've already lost 2 1/2 (don't ask) of my babies :wall:

I have some pictures... (If you need better let me know)

I have tried growing a couple of other times only to end in disapointment.

Ok, let me give you alittle background on my plant.
At first it was all shaky for me, it poped up and his first two leaves were stuck together. I finally fixed it, and all was good, growing like a bute. But then some things started happening, followed by what my plants look like now. The pH would rapidly drop over the course of 24 hours. It would go from a 6.7, to a 5.4. I figured the plant was chowing down on them nutes... so I kept fixing the pH (I did not add any food)
After the pH jumps, it started turning the color it did, starting from the inside top, moving ourward on the leaves, and down the plant. Now I am stuck. Its growth has slowed greatly. It is still growing. More leaves are being produced if you look closely. But this problem has been getting worse and worse. I am scared, this is my last bit of nirvanna before I have to pack it up and move. Please help.
I have also noticed, on the lower leaves, they are looking deformed/twisted at the very tips of the edges.
they are about 4 weeks old or so... I am not sure, I have been too busy, and it was a stoney vacation that I got to finnaly germinate and get everything set.
I originnaly fixed my pH with stuff I got out of a hydroponics store. But I ran out of that, now I used baking soda & vineger for fixing it.

Also.
problem time = 1 week
Local/Unknown
Seed
4 weeks ish?
forever-it is peatmoss, surrounded with clay pellets. (previous owner of the system grew some badass bud)
6inches tall
hydroponics, its my sole plants.
6inX6in plastic pots with large holes
not sure... they are these clay pelets that I got from the hydroponics store.
pH pen ($140usd)
RH factor is normal, 60%
Temp on avg. is 85F but goes as high as 100F and low as 75F
air flow is a fan pointed at the wall on low. Its a 3ft by 4ft room. (no wind burn)
No pests, pesticides and I only use distilled water.
the water has been nice to the touch, I'd say around the 70-90F temp
white roots... but I haven't looked at them for a while... they haven't grown that much yet I figure
I have not changed my water yet.

Thats one problem right there. You shouldn't let your plants grow in any higher than 83F at the most. also the mirricle grow you are using will work but with not very good results 20-20-20 is not a good veg ratio. and it looks like you are using FOIL for the walls.......take that stuff down it causes hot spots that will burn your plant. if you are on a budget good ol whit paint works excellent.

done, and done. Will this fix the leaves? I was reading some guides with descriptions, could it be a nute deficiency?
What can I add to the miracle gro 20-20-20? some people recommend urine... but I have my stuff indoors. And I am on a tight budget... but I have white paint, semigloss. Is it ok to paint the room with them in there? The fumes X.X

I am new to growing myself but I can see a couple of issues.1 you need to lower your temp anything over 95 kills yor plant.78 degrees is usaully perfect.2 Tin foil is bad to use for reflection.some people use reflective mylar that you can pick up at home depot or you can use a vapor barrier that is black on one side and white on the other.3 I have heard miracle grow grow a pot plant but not very well.Look into Fox Farm nute (Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom).I use these. Some use Advanced Nutrients either way it is a 3 part nute system.
I hope this helps be patient after all it is a weed.

took the temp down, its at an avg of 80 (thats as low as I can get it due to the weather)
just gotta wait and see if its color comes back.

i had always read that putting tinfoil up, with the dull side out reflected the light to the plants, but prevented hot spots? Eitherway its down

I changed my water and solution. It has discoloured more. Motoracer110 mentioned that miracle grow 20-20-20 doesn't have enough Nitrogen. Well I also added 1/4 cup fresh urine/gal. And luckily, urine, while it needs to be diluted and possibly causes oders, it is a free N booster in my eyes. NPK ratio of human urine is 12/1.1/3.3. I also was underfeeding it I think... I was using 1/2 tsp/gal of nutes. The recommended was 1 tsp, but I hear you shouldn't feed them too early. idk.

Do ya'll think this will bring it back its color?
I'd also like to add that the other plant that was drinking the same water started getting spots on its leaves. I actually thought it was dead, until I pulled it (He was snapped by the fan a while back) SOO... now that i know he was alive... I am wondering why he had spots and the other doesn't/hasn't

First of all, Miracle Grow 20-20-20 is not for hydro!!!!! :o

Thats pretty much the problem here. :-|

Grab some General hydroponic nutes..

Cheap, and works perfectly. :)

Wish I could, the nearest hydro store is over 1 hr away (don't have the gas, or the room for milage[200mi to expiration of factory warenty :dunce:])
My cash situation isn't very good either, thats sorta why I am using Miracle Grow. What can I do to make it work out?

They have gotten crunchy sorta, only the very top and brand new leaves. They are getting droopy. I am trying to invest in a ppm meter.

i just started and im having issues as well..long time troller first time poster....but didnt feel the need to create a whole new thread..basically i have a set up in my closet...i have 15 sprouts in those red party cups lined around the shelves..sorry i dont have any pics, but i'll be as descriptive as i can. my problem is im on day 7. and all the tutorials that ive scoured over the internet basically says that i have to keep them in those cups for 3 weeks to a month b4 transplanting. im using a 300w replacement(actual 65w) cfl bulb. and its kicking out 2700K & 3900 lumens. im very impressed by the rapid growth of the sprouts, but thats all they seem to be doing. the light is approx 2 ft away and its bright as fuck, and the sprouts seem like they just wanna reach up and touch it more than anything else. so much so that the tiny stalks are growing long and spindly and are drooping over, these things are approaching 7-8 inches now and new leaves are just starting to pop out..i keep the soil well moistened with rain water out of a spray bottle so i know its not for a lack of water. so is that type of growth normal? is my bulb too powerful, or weak for that matter? or am i just being paranoid?

first off, for veg you want a 6500k light, and second you want the cfl light as close as possible to your plants..
maybe like 6 inches rather then 2 ft

your lights are too high. 2ft is good if your using a mh light or hps light.your plants are stretching to get to the light sorce.I have talkedd to other growers who use flourecent lights and they have theirs about 4 inches from the plant top and I am pretty sure that this would be true for cfl lighting.

well it seems that i have to invest in a diff light source, cuz unfortunately for me thats how the closet was built, all i did was stick them on the shelf and used the socket that's in the ceiling, so outside of building a rig of some sort i have no way of bringing them closer to the light. thankx a bunch..if I have anymore issues i'll just post here instead of one of those threads with 3 million posts
