im new with this. im tryin to figure out how to have the ppm where i want it.... aslo with the ph where i want it.

im using distilled water. i begin by adding my nutes first. once i reach the ppm i want i adjust for ph.

my prob is that my ppm number shoots way up when i add the ph adjustment. (general hydroponics)

im not even sure if im getting the nutes right. im trying lucas formula. i dont know how to measure the nutes out per gallon... 0-5-10 ..... i noticed that throughout the full cycle of the plant lucas formula is always adding twice as much bloom than micro(0-5-10) and (0-8-16). so i just look at the ppm number and slowly add my nutes 2 to 1 until i reach that number using a small measuring spoon. (tryin to improvise)

any suggestions would be very appreciated.

this is supposed to be easier than soil, right? :-?

If I were you I would goto bed bath and beyond and get the proper measuring cup. If your not getting the right mix your looking for just stick to the bottle until you understand what your doing and then try the lucas. You measure then check your your ph and adjust, then your ppm should be alright to.

Shea-dont overcomplicate what you are doing. Lucas is a very straight forward and effective way to feed your plants.

Lucas and DWC are like frick and frack-you can not find a easier way of growing in hydro. Advise. Mix your res., inset bubbler, sit back for a few hours or even a day, check the PH and correct, check again in a few hours. As for PPM, yes the use of PH agents will increase your ppm-but only modestly as you need not use very much of the PH up or down (a few drops a gallon at most in distilled/RO water). Relax and let this symple system do what it does best-grow kind.
