Hey everyone,

So im running a DWC PC case grow, and my temps are in the very high 80's - 93F. HELP me please.

I already took out some of the aluminum tape / insulation to help lower temps. but it didn't lower the temps much.

I have a usb powered fan blowing on where the plants will be and an intake and exhaust fan already... i dunno what to do.

I want to get this solved before my seeds become seedlings and it stunts growth.

Any help is greatly appreciated.. Pics attached.

Try getting a bigger fan to exhaust the hot air out of the box or get a bigger fan to bring more fresh air into the box.....

Smot, not to sound ingnorant. but how so? (also, I have to keep it stealth...I probably should have mentioned that lol) devero, def. worth a try at this point. lowes or homedepot will have some plexy glass right? I'll have to swing by there tomorrow.

Jonny have you grown in this case before? I dont know if hydro will work because of height constraints.
The number one problem i had when i was growing in a PC was the temps and they will get even worse when the summer rolls around. You really need to get more fans/better ones however you might look into a mini AC. They make http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/96b3/ stuff like this that uses the Peltier effect to cool things. You could find a mini fridge or something like the usb thing and use it to cool the box.

legal, Yea Im starting to think that as well. And blazed Nope this is my first grow ever...any idea how that mini fridge works? like does it blow out cold air? or is it like a cold plate? (im gonna look into it.) You really think the height will be a problem even with a low ryder auto strain? maybe I should look into getting a used full size PC case.

+ rep to everyone who helped.

I would try the fans as well. But most of the PC Cases I see on here have a piece of glass between the light and plants, this will make the heat easilly exhaustible b/c it will keep it towards the top of the case.

not a stealth grower myself : but have got temp issues myself - so imo for your set up u need:

yes another fan = gr8 - small space try recycling some old computer fans out of scrap computers (free from local dump)

try replacing mylar with white plastic sheeting (a few bucks) - metal reflective material can cause heat spots especaly if not perfectly placed (needs to be flat no crinckles:( )

place grow in coldest place u can - no direct sunlight and maybe have a draft / fan hitting outer casing

gl dude

I have a custom 2x2 box i made and had problems with temp for so long i almsot gave up. I repositioned the fans so the intake was blowing across right under the lights and the exhaust fan was same height opposite side. 125 cfl light and the heat problem disappeared. As for your setup whats the mic looking thing opposite your fan? thats where you should put an exhaust fan. Just my oppinion. hope it helps :)

Also the fan you have on the bottom is that an intake or exhaust because either way it would seem to be useless in your setup in that spot

The mini fridge works buy the Peltier effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_effect
In which when you pass an electric current through the device it heats up one side and cools the other. So idealy you would have a heatsink/fan taking the hot out and the cool side open to your plants or with an intake fan to blow the cold air over them.

Personally when i was doing PC grows i thought hydro would be way to hard/space constraining however i have never really down a hydro grow and i know that people have done them before even in pc cases.

As far as space i would highly reccomend trying to get a huge pc box i found a Cooler master on sale that is huge and i have seen people using server towers also. Yes it probably is possible to grow a lowryder in your case and do it well however the less rooom you have the less buds you have and less lights you have meaning lower quality buds.

SO bigger case would help not only in more better buds but provide more room and ventilation options. I would suggest looking into alternatives cases and then you could use the current one as a mother case/clone case or w/e.

Thank you everyone... Umm ok... That mic looking thing is actually a USB powered fan. which moves a lot of air around surprisingly. its spinning in the pic so you cant see the blades. I am going to try moving the exhaust fans and a piece of glass and see if that fixes anything... if it doesn't i might just switch to a rubbermaid or a server tower if I can find any for free/cheap....as for moving it to someplace as cold as possible. its in my closet where no light hits it at all.

I was going to go get all of the stuff I needed but I woke up and we are in the middle of a blizzard so it is going to have to wait. Thanks again. + rep to all who helped.

what about a water cooled CPU fan?? my buddy cools im PC with liquid water could buy one of those PC liquid cooling fans...lol although that would probably cost more then your hole grow lol.....seems easyer to grow in a better place or just buy it..i mean how much do you really expect to yield in that lil tiny space?? you could take the money you put into that grow and just buy some weed alot easyer......like whats the point in months of work when you only going yeild one month supply of weed?? i guess if its just a hobby for fun then go ahead just seems like wasted money and time on somthing that wont yield good results in the first place......i guess im just a hater today lol

further more if your just exhausting the air back into the same space your sucking air in then its all pointless anyways
