Please Help me!!

Hi Guys,

I've noticed this problem a few days ago and its been spreading like crazy. The larger fan leaves turned yellow and then some brown spots appeared and then took over, drying the leaves out until they die. It's quickly spreading up my plant and I'm really worried it might spread to my others(It's currently only attacking one of my plants.)

About my grow: auto lowryder feminized jock horror(turned out not to be autos) 5 plants total, currently at 3 weeks and 5 days into flower. Soil, with miracle grow bloom booster at half recommended dose. Lighting: 4 tube lights 40w each, 2700k, along with 6 23w bulbs 2300k each, half soft, half bright white. Fan blows constantly on low temp in my closet. I've been giving them tap water, alternating no feed/feed every other grow.

So the problem... I'm not sure if it's a disease, a nute problem, or what, but my roommate, who grew 6 months ago, had the same problem and he never figured it out. I'll stop talking and post some pics...

Please, any help or ideas would be great! thanks

I wish I could help you, but I've never seen that before. It seems pretty distinctive, though, so maybe someone will recognize it- Now I'm curious, too.

Egg shells, eh? What nutrient do they provide?

Ryan, Yes, I have noticed a decent amount of fruit flies in there ever since they started budding...

Thats whats killin your plant bro, they might have done too much damage to come back from now. I noticed i started having the same problem and caught that early, 2 weeks later mine are just starting to come back. Do a search on gnats, read the threads posted about what different people have done. I got some fungicidal soap and pearlite and that seems to have cleared my problem up. Good luck man, i hope it isn't too late!

Looks like bugs dude... Please do something about that.... Those cock suckers will devour ur plants

yeah. it sucks. it was definitely from the soil I purchased... Thanks for the advice. You recommend any cheap, natural ways to get rid of the problem?

I dunno. I don't think that's gnats. I am guessing it's too much nutes for your lighting. Maybe not enough calcium as well.

I also read that potatoes can help. Cut them into slices and lay flat on top of your soil, check them daily and replace as bugs fill them up. Over time you should notice that less and less are showing up until you get rid of them all. The spray that I bought from Lowes worked great and it was less that $6. You might want to try that too, or both, whatever.

So far I have not had problems with bugs(knock on wood). Best advice I can give u is not to buy soil thats been left outdoors... There are organic ways of getting rid of those nasty things and then u got pesticides... I would recomend organic

Yeah, I guess it would have been helpful to mention that I don't see a "swarm" of bugs, It's more like 1 or 2 here and there... could they cause that big of a problem?

jack ripa, I did notice some nute burn on the tips of leaves last week and I haven't been giving nutes since. there was a point where i was feeding every time i watered( usually every 2-3 days when soil seemed dry). But calcium? I'll look that up...

is the spray from lowes organic?

gnats dont eat the leaves they live in your soil and eat your roots 1-2 will not do that to plants water a with neam oil to get rid of them 2 tbls per gallon...your plant could have a manganese deficiency or potassium deficiency...it may be from mold but i dont think so ....cut off yellow and dead leaves and check the 2 nutes i suggested ..u can along with watering ,foil spray your plants that will help with bugs and help deal with mold use neem oil GOOD LUCK

I just went through something that looked like that. The ph of my water is too high at 7.6 which I was unaware of, that caused the plant to be unable to take up nutes. I got the ph down and the plant recovered. You can buy a cheap ph test kit at walmart or anywhere like that.
