please help me with hps purchase...please lol

I need a good referral or advice from sum1 experienced on what hps system to get that would be excellent for vegging....I grow outdoor, but in the off season, i bring the plants in this shed with fluoros to finish the light cycle everyday...ive been growing more and more plants, so this flourescent tube lighting isnt cutting it......keep in mind they get outdoor sun when the sun is out, and i only use the lights for finishing the 18/6 cycle...so what would be best for say 12 plants vegging....ive seen alot of these sun systems and stuff but i kno nothing of lighting, any advice would help greatly...lookin for lots of suggestions...help an outdoor guy out lol

I reckon 2X 400w's for vegging, 6 under one light and 6 under the other.

The reason why i say two 400watt lights, 1: Better light coverage, 2: In veg they don't need as much light. And if i were to flower 12 plants id use 2 600s.

Do I really need two?keep in mind they get sunlight whenever the sun is out...so they get more sun then artificial light...so this makes me think i can go cheaper...but tell me if im wrong here lol how much do you think the two would cost, im willing to spend about $150, but i wouldnt like to spend that much lol and which type or brand of hps would you suggest

yeah one 400 would do ya fine. Do you flower outside to? i assume you do.

yeah i flower outside...i try to keep the environment as natural to outdoors as i can, but sometimes you simply cannot veg without bringin' them in under lights ya kno? but thanks for the advice devilwizard, now i kno what ballpark i shud at least be in with the amount of light and watts...any suggestions on a particular brand or system thats reliable? or a light that many growers are familiar with?

which brand you would recommend...cuz the htg systems they got are much cheaper then like...the floralux and others...why is that? is it all basically the same?

Mumble mumble ummm do you have a local hydro shop? Because im one of those people that won't buy hydro equipment online(its just me) .

Anyway here's the brand i go for, cheap but not too cheap, magnetic , 5 years warranty, australian made .

You "MIGHT" be able to buy them online, im not sure about that one. LOL the aussie made part may skrew you.

i would say.. use MH if you want to augment the veg cycle. one 1000 watter would be awesome to give extra help to those 12 mommies. but you could do just fine with a 400 (2 would be better). MH puts out a more veg specific light spectrum. HPS is better for flowering.

yeah i guess ill check out my local hydro shop, theres like 3 really close actually, and thanks Steadmanclan, I think i will just go ahead and drop sum extra cash for that 1000 watter, and ill get the hps, but with that MH conversion shit lol
