not exactly. not sure how you can have a rdwc that doesn't recirculate all the solution all the time? mine was 30 gallons so i mixed up my nutes for 30 gallons at whatever EC i wanted depending on size/growth stage etc.

the "why" for lower nute strengths is that roots are always exposed to nutes in dwc/rdwc so they can feed anytime they want. then compare to a ebb/flow or even a hempy bucket which only waters the root zone from 1 to 5 times daily. the plant will eat less frequently so you can up your nute strength. that make sense?

Yes it does. My nutrients solution does circulate full till 100% but I basically am saying what your saying your just making more sense lol. My thoughts are treat 20 gallons at half strength put in additional 20 gallons and ph it all but basically it's applying 1/4 strength to all 40 gallons I dunno it made more sense when I typed it lol

gotcha. clear as mud. lol.

i just ramp up my feeding based on plant size/stage of growth. small plants EC=0.2 0.3 mid size plants EC=0.5 0.6 late veg, most flower EC=1.0 1.2 late flower EC=0.5 0.6

Ok it's been a while I've worked out all the first time kinks in this system as far as vegging goes now I dont know when to switch to flower I kno it's about a third to a half of the height you have but mine are still kind of on the short side but I'm running out of width space if that makes any sense I wanted about 3-4 ft colas but I think I topped to many times and if I don't switch to flower soon there's going to be no room I don't know tho what do you guys think

@Mbakes51 hey man we literally have the exact same set up. I was wondering what kind exhaust /fan system u have set up and whether or not there's any kind of intake.? Also what are your temps/ humidity levels. I have a 8x8 gorilla and it's 75 without lights 70 %humidity levels. I just Installed 12 bucket bubble flow system with 25 gallon res prob gonna use a extra 25 gallon res to refill and replenish prob strap from the tap. Any advice on your intake out take methods?? Peace

I have a 6 inch inline fan and a phresh carbon filter but you should probably run an 8 inch for the 8x8 I run it constantly when lights are off because when my lights are on my co2 is being pumped into the tent and I don't want to waste it by exhausting it out.

You should keep temp comfortable like 70-75 unless you run co2 which I'm doing and you'll want a temp of 85-88 with 25-30 percent humidity and 1000ppms of co2 measured by a co2 meter.

I have a window air conditioner ducted into my tent and the air conditioner is plugged into a thermostat outlet Witch keeps my tent perfectly at 85 with lights on and I have a small dehumidifier that turns on and off automatically to keep humidity at 30%.

Then I just have 2 small clip fans moving air around over the plants canopy to avoid hot spots you'd probably need 4.

For the buckets make sure there draining properly or the water level will be to high in the buckets my floor was just very slightly un even and that's all it takes keep your water and air pumps running 24/7 or plants can drown or water can become unbalanced also make sure you fill your nets all the way to the top with the hydroton stones and thoroughly clean the stones I can't stress that enough clean them let em dry clean them let em dry and repeat if you don't your gonna get a bunch of clay gunk in the system and if you don't fill the buckets up 100% with the stones like to where it's almost over flowing light will get to the water and you'll get an algea problem like I did and stunt the plants growth for about a week.

First grows the hardest man I'm just getting ready to switch to flower and it's my first time I already feel like a pro it's hard at first but gets really easy as you go.

Yea man I actually just ordered hydro planet 8 inch 750 cpm fan with 8 inch carbon filter all hydroplanet . Got 25 feet of Ducting as well as straps all for under 200! I'm also getting ready to buy the same clip fans u mentioned.im not actually gonna be using co2. I might end up using a portable ac not sure yet. Do u use a water chiller for your res?? I've heard alot of problems with hot water in the res....so I'm thinking of having water bottles frozen and ready but eventually I'll need the chiller....so when I'm ready to put the water in....I just put the water pump in res and start filling water right ?? Then turn on air stones??

Yea just add your water with nutrients in it unlike soil hydro plants get fed with nutrient water 100% of the time and I don't use a chiller because my water reorvoir is not in my tent and outside tent temp is like 68-70 so that's fine for the water I haven't had any problems with it yet I'd run co2 before I'd worry about chilling the water keeping co2 at 1000ppms will give you about 30% more bud and it's not that much money it'll pay for itself first grow like 100$ for tank and co2 and 150$ for a meter and controller .... 200$ for 750 cfm is a steal.

I change out my water every 7 days and 24 hours before the rest change I add h202 Witch will fight any problems warm water would cause anyway just thought I'd add that I use it at 3ml/ gallon and it works great.

You need a ppm meter and ph meter to before you use your tap water check the ppms anything over 200 and you should get a ro filter bring your pH down to about 5.7 5.8 in the morning and as they drink it should rise once it gets to 6.3 6.4 bring it back down I just check mine in the morning when I get up and it's fine for the rest of the day.

Yea I already got a tds meter and pH meter I need to calibrate the pH meter I already played with tds meter tap here is actually fairly decent..... once I figure that out I'm going to buy nuts accordingly. Taking a trip out west so I'll be able to get great genetics. I'll be changing every 7 just like u said dam u sound like your going by the book homey. Hope it's working I'll post pics once I get everything plugged gonna get a proper receptacle for light s exhaust and fan. Yea amazon a mfer u can get good deals. I'm gonna need help mixing nuts but I already know less is more in the beggining. I'm thinking about getting another led honestly maybe a t5 but heat and humidity is already an issue so I'll see what happens after I put the fter in. Nice pics btw I'm not sure about co2 .I have no idea how to do that gonna have to do some research

And yea your right about that ro I really need to get that to its just 2 dollars as well so I'll see. But yea your managing real well from what I see I'm about to take the ride with u we will see what happens

Also thought I'd mention a 10-15$ ppm meter is fine but don't skimp on the ph pen get 1 with auto calibration aswell 14595779610852088249416.jpg

That's what I use

Nutes are easy I'm using pure ro water so I start at 0 ppm so unless u start at 0 ppm don't follow this but I use 5ml/gal silica blast 3ml/gal cal-mag 3ml/gal flora micro 5ml/gal flora grow 1.5ml/gal thrive alive b-1 3ml/gallon sugar daddy and 6ml/gallon diamond nectar

It's looking good but I don't think that lights gonna be enough and you should set the reservoir up out of the tent so u have more room for the plants

Best of luck to ya I was looking at 250 watt ufo leds I wish I saw them before I got this kind xl100 the ufos are under 100$ a piece and 250 watts is good for each plant. I just bought a par light meter I'm gonna get a ufo led down the road and see if there a good option for when I expand my grow

Yea no doubt same to u. I'm going to take the res out of the tent and reconfigure everything.....I was thinking about getting a t5 ....just don't know what the mix reaction will be.......

. I'm also new to hydro grow in soil but on my first dwc grow 16 site 17 gallon res with 2 time a day top feed 350-4000 ppm my buddy gave me a clone of blue dream he over fed the mother a little which seem to have stunted the clone can see roots inside cup I almost think it might be root rot inside the jiffy plug I have haven't used any h2o2 changing water and nutes tomorrow wanna run some though the top feed asap how much h2o2 per gallon and at what strength h202 would this hurt plants or stress or is it OK to run a Lil all the time to be proactive except flower of course and does it bring up ppm much?

I use 3ml/gallon of h202 and it's fine on my plants I do it 24 hours before a res change I wouldn't use it every water or feed just once a week
