Plants Feel No Pain?

Why do plants intentionally burn themselves on bulbs?.

Sometimes I'll go to sleep, and plants are a good 2 inches to the side of a bulb. Then upon awakening, I find them wrapped around the damn thing.

Not a problem, can always relocate bulbs...but WTF??. You would think plants would notice their ass is burning...yet they lean right into the fire.

Like fat Americans and candy bars.

Well in nature they reach for the sun, and in nature they would never actually reach the sun, so they just keep growing towards it. In our artificial environments, the "sun" can be reached, so I guess they'll damn well go for it.
