my plant is becoming a monster, and as great as it is, it won't fit in my grow room.

the plant is about 3 feet tall growing in hydro, and it is literally right under the light. within an inch of a 400 watt hps light with no cool tube(yea i know not good at all!)

so what are my options? bending the plant over? would just chopping off the top 5 inches of the plant do too much damage, and stress it way to much?

need some help!

man that sucks if your in flower bro.....you could top it but that will probably bring some stress....how far along are you?? basically you have 3 options (possably 2) a. move the light higher but obviously you cant right? b. top the plant or c. try bending them......good luck.....

Have you put into flower yet (12/12)? If not, do so now.

Also, bend that fucker back. Make sure it is at least 18 inches from the 400w bulb. Get some twine and bend it slowly and carefully. Top it if bending it cracks it too much, but by all means get it away from the light. Good luck and don't lose faith, in at least one sense, you're doing better than expected. :leaf:

supper croping, bend under a screen, lst, topping using what you cut off for clones ....put the plant pot on its side, then all side branches turn into top colas, helps with the height problem and you get more bud sites.
there will be loads of others that might be able to help you better than i can.but these are a few ways that came to mind.

hope it helps you out

just seen that your in hydro....oups dont know how i missed that.....it would of been the better way with less stress putting the plant on its side, but thats gonna be a no do'er now.

Do what i did with my 5,7 freak...

Tie it a third up and pull it one way, then tie the top third up and pull it the other way (like an s shape)

Make sure you dont bend it too much in one go, best to tighten the strings as its breaching your hight limit

Good luck

Well sadly enough to say, it isnot going to stop growing, its the 12 hours of dark, thats its streching to find more light. Best bet I could suggest, is if you have room to Bend it over, You could Try some *late Low stress training.

Tie a peice of string around the main stalk about 3/4 to the top, and gently pull it down an in or so every few hours.
If you are truly out and space and options, then i think you might have to top it, but if its only grew a few inches so far, beware its still got alot more streching to go... Plants normally stretch to 2 - 3 times there size during flowering.
