Hey everyone, I've got a couple plants in flower its been about 41/2 weeks. Last time I watered my pure power plant the drainage water smelled awful. So I checked the others and their all fine. The main difference is the soil I'm using roots organic in the others and promise on the smelly one. For nutes I'm using ffhp 555 and I put a couple spikes of the 388 in the containers in the beginning of flowering. The only liquid I've used is ft big bloom and rain water. So what should I do for the rest of flowering? Maybe flush and try to add some good mycros? Or maybe go synthetic? I really don't want too though.... thanks everyone any input is appreciated

Generally, bad smell = bad microbes Sounds like you need better drainage. A dose of beneficial microbes will help greatly, but get more than just mycos. I would want some bacillus in there as well. Diversity is the key to fighting root disease.

i dont know if that is neccesarily bad..... the bad drainage smell that is. It happened to me a few times but plants were still very healthy. i just continued as usual.. i ended up getting 19 oz all organic under 1000 watt with no mold of fungus problems.

Ok yea I ended up throwing a top dressing of HP 555 on and ive made a nice tea with compost, worm castings that I'm going to use. Its producing nicely but I can see its lacking N and K for how early it is....

i would pay attention to the plant and not the smell. if the plant is growing fine with no problems, dont worry about it. i experienced this problem on my last run with the funky runoff smell but it didnt seem to have any affect whatsoever on plant health and yeild.

innoculate with a compost tea or a worm casting tea with a little bit of bagged soil mixed in. The microbes in your tea will help fight off the bad bacteria. They most likely will eliminate it. As someone else said, you probably need better drainage.

Yea I think it's drainage issues too. Never had this problem with roots Organics potting soil. Probably the last time I use promix HP even though this is a first for promix. If I do ill have to cut it with extra perl/vermiculite. Ive been making tea with the earth nectar/ earth ambrosia organic soil conditioner. Its working good :)
