Plant stretching

Hey All,

First grow here so obviously pretty worried at any little thing.

I am worried there is some stretching going on here.

Some info:
From seed strain cabbage patch
1000w full spectrum LED
6in max inline can
Can 9000 filter
Fox farm nutes
Fox farm ocean floor mixed with perlite as medium

They popped their heads from the soil on Friday and the below pictures were taken today.

Also the one plant not looking as good had helmet head so removed that moments ago.

Any advice, comments, questions are greatly appreciated.

Need more info man how far is your light away are you feeding or? I would suggest for now building some more dirt around the stem like a mole hill to sturdy them if that makes sense they look good just stretching so there looking for light man as I said more info would be great also temps and humidity would be good

Cheers

Sorry I should have included this info. I am running a 1000 watt LED in a smaller space 2x4x5 feet tall. I was reading that bringing the LED too close will burn the leaves. I have my LED about 3 feet from the tops of the plants. The temperature fluctuates between 76-81 and humidity between 45-56.

That light probably to strong for seedlings.
You are right about having that light to close to plants but it would be better for plants a little older.
Maybe a nice t5 or some CFLs for seedlings something in the 6500k range.

I concur, let the seedlings grow up first. That is a lot of light. I also found that using LED I had less stretching that with CFL. One little 13W (60W equivalent) in a table lamp, a little topping, then a little FIM and I have this. They are very hydro friendly as well.

Can you attach a picture of your light?
1000W full spectrum led sounds very unreasonable thing to have

A lot of people put fans directly on there seedlings to help prevent stretching. Higher temps around 80 also causes stretching. Most importantly what everyone else was saying and from what i've researched it seems how powerful your light is and how far away it is are the biggest factors at the end of the day.

I did some things after reading around a bit but not before reading all your comments here. I will mention what I did here in a sec.

How old is the plant in this pic?
The plants in those pictures are 3 days after popping through soil.

This is a picture of the light i don't know much about brand as it was a gift from a friend that was moving.

Ok what I did, two of the plants I made a mound hill around the plants. The other two i gently dug up and re potted deeper.

I also added a 24w CFL and lowered my LED. I left them there for 2 hours and looked and the temps went to 97.... NOOOOOO I turned off the CFL, heating mat I had put under there, and uncovered the Tupperware I had there for a greenhouse effect.

Also I am having a hard time keeping humidity constant. It jumps between 32 and 55

That looks like a King Plus Led or a no name Double Chip LED.

Yeah, well, that light is not 1000w nor full spectrum.
It doesn't mean you won't be able to get a decent grow out of it.

anytime a plant stretches it just means its looking for light. with your light move it closer I use leds as well I suggest 12-16 inches. don't use any nutes until you have a few sets of leafs your medium will feed them for awhile you have a good medium base. also have a small fan with a gentle breeze to help strengthen your stocks.

That light is not even close to 1000w... i would put that light about 14" above those plants and stop that stretching... You will likely need a few more of those lights. I would say one per plant.
What do you think the actual output is? Also if I were to change the light or add some more what would you recomend I add to supplement the LED. I know HPS bulbs are the best but I do not think I can buy one and fit in my tent with the LED light again my space is only 2 feet by 3 feet and 5 feet tall.

If I was to add a HPS light there is a pawn shop in town that has the below light for sale. What do you guys think of that light and ballast. If you guys think this light is good what would you say it goes for as they want 400 for it which seems a little high.

I did drop the light last night to around 16 inches from the plants and added a CFL at like 12 inches,

Also I do not know why I cannot get the humidity up right now its hovering at 27-33%.

Thanks all as always

it was mentioned that it definitely isn't a 1000 watt led, if you buy an led online your getting scammed. its still a strong light i wouldn't move it to close. the stretch isnt that bad. lights 3 ft over. drop it to 2 feet. dont worry about humidity to much unless it gets to high. dont worry about a perfect environment unless your growing on a commercial level. (again unless it gets to high. over 80% and theres danger of powdery mildew. then i get worried

that looks like a 250w, and those seedlings are fine dont change the light.

you dont have room to add sup light. and 400 is CRAZY for that light. we sell 400w kit for 150.00
a 315 cmh is only 240.00
tell the pawn guy he can shove it

Something to be noted, if your plants are leaning one direction or another you can rotate your container so they are leaning away from the light source and they had ought to straighten out. It won't make them shrink but at least they'll have a straighter stalk.
