Plant ready for harvest?

Hi all, I have a mids plant that has been flowering for 12 weeks, it has like 80% cloudy 20% clear trichomes and I've only seen amber on a few spots. I believe its ready for harvest because as you can see in the pictures, a few of the calyxes ( not the pistils) are turning yellow or brown so i think that means the buds are getting too old. and the smell is also not as strong as it was a week ago. Does it look ready for harvest?Should I cut the big buds or all the buds with yellow calyxes and let the other buds grow, if I shouldn't cut it now, how long should I wait? should i chop my plant tonight?

It's really up to you. They want a more cloudy to Amber and clear ratio like an 80:20 in perspective. 75:25 is also a good one. But what they keep saying is Amber trichs won't help you. The couchlock issue is false with Amber trichs. That depends on the strain. Amber trichs are said to have a negative effect because it is degraded THC and gives you a bit of a sick sort of feeling. If I were you I'd pull them now, trim a few leaves and start drying them. You're on your way to some fine bud soon enough. 3-5
Days dry max then cure that stuff. I'm jealous.

Who is "they", and while amber trichomes are, yes, degraded thc the thc doesn't disappear its converted to cbd and cbn ( and other cannabinoids) which all contribute to marijuana's effects. I would really like more than two opinions on whether I should cut or not. Anybody else care to weigh in? I dont really think the buds are gonna grow much more

Sorry I'm talking about many other posts here of folks asking "when do I clip??" This is a very static question asked so whatever you
Decide is fine but based on how many forums I've read and books, I'm only sharing that even though I am one person I am offering you the opinions of possibly hundreds of thousands. What you do with your plants is fine.
I'm just one person replying while everyone else is on different forums talking about the same thing.

With how stressed out that plant is I don't think you will get it to finish. Looks like you had some serious metabolic problems. Good luck!

I'm unsure if good light has been on it or the cycle changed and his plant went "agh!" It's like going from Hawai'i to northern Canada in the middle of winter.

the curled under leaves and the general look of the plant looks very stressed, look how the plant just looks in pain I feel bad for the little girl ,something going on in the root system I can tell might be salt build up or something.

i believe its salt build up, yes the plant was very stressed. this is only my second grow and I didnt have the correct nutrients at first or the correct lighting which all contributed to the plants poor health. I cut the plant down and trimmed the leaves today, looking at around half ounce dried

Here's a picture of the cut buds. Probably gonna take around 4 days to dry maybe 5. How much weed do you think this looks like? I have a lighter for comparison, they are now hanging up to dry.
Nice work! Someone I know grew a plant for us. Funny story how it happened but long story short we uprooted it and he hung it upside down. Now I'm not saying this is bad but I'm more of a perfectionist and would trim off the bud leaves before doing so. What resulted was bud being covered in the leaf shroud and manicuring it was a bit of a chore afterwards. You obviously did that. Hope you saved your trim for something soon.

@jordanjordan1997 congratulations on your grow 8-) - so you're probably looking at a heavy quarter + once that dries... harvesting early does make a difference in your final weight. those last two weeks or so is when the girls really put on the weight and that happens to be the hardest time to wait ;-) no worries - the smoke will still be good. try not to dry it out too much-it might not need four or five days since it's a bit early. do you have another grow going or did you need to finish this harvest before you could start another one?

I have two more plants budding right now, my plant dried in 4 days the buds are curing now but dont smell that great any more, I ended up getting about 11 grams dry, ive been smoking smoe though so i probably have 9g now and im not gonna smoke any more till its done curing and starts smelling like dank

Post your curing buds. Your buds should smell better like a month or so from now. That "green" smell should go away a little over time.

You are 100% wrong with all the amber trichome garbage stuff you spit around here

THC peaks at milky. 40% amber means you've degraded 40% of the trichomes.

If you want a couch lock high, grow an Indica. I saw you tell someone in another thread to wait until 75% of the trichomes were amber.

75!

That is absolutely wrong.
