Plant not taking up water or nutes

Hi
i have two slh in a 30 litre tub they are in the 6th week of 12\12, the last couple of days they dont seem to have taken any water or nutes.
one plant seems fine and healthy but the other is having some yellowing of the fan leaves. The plant with yellowing also shows scorched leaf tips akin to nute burn and some blotching(rust spots) on fan leaf leaf tips i changed the rez about two - three weeks ago.
i use AN micro and bloom with hammerhaed.
Should i change the rez?
Isn't the yellowing part of the flowering phaze?.
I know some yellowing is expected but i thought that was down to the way we apply nutes in flowering.

any advice or thoughts or pointers welcome

p.s cant get any pics up yet workin on it

You need to change your rez out once a week..not every 3 weeks. They are probably locked out..Do you have a PH PPM meter?

you most likely have plants that are locked up from salt build up,first things first I would flush the hell out of those plants and hope for the best, also you may want to read up a little on hydro and dwc.its a good way to grow as long as you take care of them, the right ph the proper nutes and ppm,not changing your res for 3 weeks is a no no,and can lead to more problems than lock out, check your roots and make sure your not getting root rot peace and good luck

Hi thanx for reading and replying to my post i have a ph and a ppm pen ph is 5.5-6.0 usualy 5.8 sweetspot. ppm is1.4-1.8(veg to flower)
I had vegged them both for about 1.5-2 months in the tub with no rez change and they where fine. I changed the rez at the end of month 2 as switched to 12\12
four weeks in changed rez again as a friend said i should despite my babys lookin great.
Now i was hoping to get away without changing my rez but it now seems i have to i dont like chucking my rez down the rain but its only possible solution asi live in a block of flats
which is why i wanted to not change res if i could.
I will change rez tonight as you both have confirmed my suspicions. Sometimes you just need to hear someone else tell you so for you to act on it.

cheers for the help peeps

peace:joint:

p.s this is my first time in hydro if u hadnt guessed, great aint it.

hi changed the rez all seems a bit better still abit of yellowing going on but i gather that happens in flower. think i will be changing my rez every 1-2 weeks now thanks for the support guys.
Bought some tricoderma, cannazym and silicon for the tub, hopefully that will will sort out any potential root root.

peace:joint:

At this stage of the game I suggest you change out that rez every 7 days or so...just to be safe

You said you live in a "block of flats", does that mean you share a bathroom and a tub/shower?

If you don't want to change the rez often because you can't carry it or whatever, get yourself a drill pump and some garden hose; you won't have to carry the rez anywhere

If your res is only 1.4-1.6 EC, then your plants need more food.

1.4-1.6EC is not enough to break a plant's salinity tolerance. You don't need to change your res once a week, especially if using fungi and bacteria... it's a bit of a waste.

but then again benificial fungi and bacteria can only survive in orgainc nutrients i used subculture in the begining of my grow and the same thing happens so i stoped using it put a water chiller kept temps down to 60 f and wrapped all my res's in black duct tape, added some more airstones and my problem was gone. i found out that benificial bacteria can not survive in chemical based nutrients they eventually die and you have to keep adding them for them to survive. Next time try using organic teas and organic nutrients and once you do you will see y many ppl dont go organic with hydro shit stinks
