Plant itself seems overly dry. Not underwatered.

I have 2 plants growing at the moment, one of them has been going just great with absolutely no issues. Over the past couple weeks the other plant has been drying out it seems. Its not dead obviously but the buds seem pretty dry and most of the fan leafs will just crack. This is my 5th grow and Ive never had any issues like this before.

I watered it yesterday, and the soil is still moist so I know it just isnt eating up all the water. This is also a plant I have grown before in the same spot with same conditions. Never seen this before.

Anyone have any idea what may be causing the issue?

What STRAIN are you growing? - Snow White

What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) - Seed

What is the age of your plants? - 4 Weeks into flowering

How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? - Always

How Tall are the plants? - 2.5-3ft

What size pots are you using? - 3gal

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using? - Fox farm soil and nutes. Soil about 3/5. 1/5 verm 1/5 perl. Using nutes every other watering. Using the recommended dose.

What brand Nutrient's are you using? - Fox Farm

How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* - Recommended dose of nutes for plants age with the recommended amount of water.

How often are you feeding? - Plants get nutes every other watering.

If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? - About 2 weeks into flowering. Started with extremely small dose and worked my way up to the recommended.

What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) - Fox Farms Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom


What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? - Will have to test later.

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? - Will test with both strips and pen

How often are you watering? - As needed. About every 2-3 days.

What size bulb are you using? - 400w HPS

How old is your bulbs? - Has gone through 2 grows before this one.

What is the distance to the canopy? - About 2 feet. Temperature gauge directly at top of plants and reads about avg 80-81.

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) - Currently 40%

What is the canopy temperature? - Currently 80.6degrees F

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) -Day 70-80 / Night(lights on) 77-82

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) - 3 420cfms

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? - Exhaust is always running. Grow area is in a 5x5 closet with a custom made door. Intakes air from main room, exhausts through ceiling.

Is the fan blowing directly at plants? - There is a fan that circulates on the plants.

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? - Most of the time yes. I do not water until the soil is dry.

Is your water HARD or SOFT? - Honestly dont know. Ive never had any pH issues or any type of issues with my previous grows.

What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? - Tap water but I use a water filter.

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? - I pruned a bunch of the fan leafs about 4 days ago since I thought it may help this issue, Most of them fell right off or just cracked away.

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's? - Pest control comes to the house but they do not go in closet area. Plants do not have any pests so I have never used any type of pest control on or around plants.

ya that looks like nute burn to me nothing you can realy do about it leaves wont heal so next time id say wait atleast a week and a half before watering with nutes and dont wait so long to fix the problem cause to me it looks like this must have been happening for more then a week looks like the whole plant is fried also i suggest always fixing the PH before you water nutes will raise or lower the PH so it might make it to acidic or vice versa

Thanks for the info. It has been happening for about 2 weeks. I had first thought it was a watering issue and kept thinking it would fix itself. Definitely going to cut the nutes until it gets back on track.

wow that thing looks like something out of a horror movie....

as stated before, pH might be a culprit somehwere in there. ive been lucky to not burn to such an extent so iam not exactly familiar, but the twisiting of leaves definitely looks like what a pH imbalance would do. But, maybe just extreme nute burn can cause the same twisting so i dunno.

Well thing is, Ive grown this same plant, and I have always given all my plants the exact same amount of nutes. pH is about 6.7 (the runoff)

Turns out I did have critters. After a veryyyy close inspection I found some thrips that made their way in... However, I dont think thats what caused this as I havnt found a single one on the plant itself, only in the soil.

Plant looks so much worse now. Really hoping it will recover but I dont know.

i would flush with some ro water for several days buy some if you dont have... and then start to feed with half strength...
and alternate your waterings one with plain water and one with food then so one... this seems to avoid most if not all plant nute problems in dirt

So I got rid of the critters the day of my last post. Picked up some pest soap or something of the sort and it did the job with just a very light treatment.

The plant I am going to assume is a goner as you can tell in first picture. Ive flushed it and past few waterings I havnt given it any nutes yet it continues to dry out. Im pretty sure it will not recover.

Now my other plant is starting to have dry buds. No critters. pH now is about 6.5. Sucks because im 3/4 the way through flowering. I would really hate to lose the ladies.

The plant that is just now having issues isnt that dry but it isnt near as moist as it should be.

Also just checked on them and they appear to not be soaking up the water I feed them. Any idea what could cause this? Lots of it just ran through and is still sitting in the base of the bot (the pot plate thingy).

How bad would it be if I just chopped down the dead one and put it in curing jars? lol

Dude, I got the same issue. IDK what it is! Its my second grow and I am still having this issue. Is it because the temp in the room is too hot? Spider mites? Nute burn? pH off? What can we do now? I think I am going to flush it for a week with corrected pH and see what happens next. hotdamnit!

I had thrips but got rid of them before they even made it to the plant. my pH is fine. Temps can get to around 90-92 MAX, but all of my previous grows have had the same exact routine, actually it was hotter for them as it was summer/spring time so the house itself was a lot warmer.

I have flushed them a couple times with still no luck. I honestly have no idea what to do.
