Plant height question

I read somewhere on a different thread someone saying if a plant is not topped and either 4, 5 ft tall or taller it won't produce good buds. Is that true?

The website I ordered my seeds from says my plant's max height is 3.2ft tall. But my plant is already 3 ft tall in 4th week of flower. It is a haze strain. Do you think my plant can still produce good buds if it grows over 3.2ft tall?

What they were probably referring to is.....

With a horizontal light and reflector there is a sweet spot (distance from the light) the farther away from your light you go the less intense it is so if you light is 2 ft from your plant and the sweet spot is 2 ft below that then on a 4 ftplant the bottom 2 ft starts getting much less light. For me the point in topping and training Is to get all those branches into the sweet spot so that all those buds get the most usable light as possible

OP, tussel pretty much nailed it, your best, fattest, tightest buds will be in the sweet spot. Your haze sounds leggy and it's stretching to create bud sites, as sativas can have chunky spaced out buds. Best thing is to insure bud sites high and low are getting light and circulation. "Larf buds" are the little shits that yield little more than a wisp of sticky pistils and sugar leaves. Those are best removed early, and can still be without issue. The ones that form under canopy and stand no chance of receiving adequate light. If unsure don't worry, just best to focus on sweet spot buds. Pics help if you need advice. But no man under optimal conditions she'll produce buds of equal quality and potency otherwise.

I used to top my plants and no longer do .. found it to just be a waist of time to be honest ... I fill my room according to plant width so as there is ennougj spacing between them that the light gets to where it has to go .. and thus giving me lowers that look like this ....
Nice, that's what nice side and lower buds look like OP!
