Planning coco grow; Nutrients question

I'm in the process of planning my next grow, which will be grown in a coco coir/perlite mix. Maybe I am making this more complicated than it is but I just don't have a firm grasp on the nutrients needed yet.

This is what I plan to use:
For Veg: Canna Coco A & B, Rhizotonic, Cannazym, Cal-Mag, Silica Blast
For Bloom: Canna Coco A & B, Rhizotonic, Cannazym, Cal-Mag, Silica Blast, PK13/14 - Canna Boost? House & Garden Bud-XL? GH Flora Nova Bloom?

My main question is regarding the flowering nutrients. I was going to use Canna Boost but that shit seems mighty expensive. Now I'm leaning towards either H&G Bud XL or GH Flora Nova, Can I change out the Canna Boost for any bloom nutrients that I want, As listed above?

Some guidance would be appreciated, Thanks.

i have grown in canna coco for over two years, i get over a gram per watt on most grows (hey nobody is perfect).

i use the rhizotonic, coco a+b, pk 13/14, and boost.

you are right about the boost being expensive, it has a relativley high application rate too but i feel it is worth it.

i also use bloombastic by atami (one of the most expensive additives you can buy) but it is worth ten times whatever you pay for it and is highly concentrated.

here would be a simple breakdown of how i would feed an 8 week strain, bear in mind i do not like to veg my plants for any longer than ten days ( preferably no veg).

per litre of water given to the plants
week 1 - 20ml A 20ml B 20ml rhizo e.c 1.2
week 2 - 40ml A 40ml B e.c 1.4
week 3 - 40ml A 40ml B 10ml pk13/14 e.c 1.6
week 4 - 30ml A 30ml B 10ml pk13/14 15ml boost e.c 1.8
week 5 - 30ml A 30ml B 30ml boost e.c 2.0
week 6 - 20ml A 20ml B 20ml boost 5ml bloombastic e.c 2.2
week 7 - 20ml A 20ml B 20ml boost 10ml bloombastic e.c 2.4
week 8 plain water, ph'd for the first major flush then not ph'd for a regular watering every day

i use an e.c meter to gauge how strong the feed is so i try and build up the strength as the weeks go by, if after i mix these ratios the feed isn't up to strength i will add more A+B in the first half of flowering and more boost in the latter stages. i have done grows with added perlite and noticed no difference in quality or yield so i no longer use it.

i hope this helps you in some way.

ghb, Thank you for the detailed reply, It is very informative.

It appears I am on the right track and any other variables are preference. My real concern is whether I can switch out the Canna Boost for House & Garden Bud-XL OR GH Flora Nova Bloom? Will either of those alternatives play nice with the other Canna products I intend to use or will I be lacking somewhere?

The Bud-XL is about 60%/cost of the Canna Boost and the Flora Nova is way cheaper than both of them. If Canna Boost is really worth it I have no problems purchasing it. I'd just like to know if I have alternatives with what I plan to use.

Thanks again.

sorry i know nothing about those two products, i take it canna where you are is very expensive?. i can get a 5l boost for around 300 bucks which will grow me around 10 pounds of sweet bud, a small price to pay i say.

That's what I did, I'm using BudXL with some Berry Sweet (goes great with Blueberry plants :) ) instead of the boost (too expensive). But I do use all of the other Canna products as well (coco A+B, Rhizo, Zym and PK)

Canna will provide you with a growing schedule on their site (grow guide). It makes it pretty easy.

Canna Boost is expensive everywhere... Small price overall or not, I'm not in the market to be taken by a nutrient company if I can get similar results using something cheaper. I just don't know coco and whether or not I can simply switch out certain products and keep using the product line as normal.

Thanks, BBB. That's what I was curious about. I plan to use the entire canna line but if I can switch out the Boost then that's what I plan on doing.

Anyone have an experience using the canna line in conjunction with Uncle John's Blend from Cutting Edge?

Hi Ghb, thanks for sharing your feeding schedule with us. And I would like to ask you for a little more info, when you say "per litre of water given to the plants
week 1 - 20ml A 20ml B 20ml rhizo e.c 1.2
" do you mean you do that every watering or just once a week and then the other watering is just PHed water. Also with a reservoir (use to prepare the nutrients)of 50 litres you mean I should add 1 litre of A , 1 litre of B, and a litre of rhizotonic.

Probs every watering that bro, coco is an inert medium so needs nutes every time with a flush every 7th feed or around that time to avoid excessive salt build ups! Aswell try to feed with around 20-30% run off

YES Uncle johns blend is awesome along with plant amp. I personally use the full ces line but if I ever switched I'll always keep UJB in my arsenal.

Peace. Happy growing

I think GHB has his ml's mixed up.

20ml in a litre of water of both A and B is excessive. I think its per 10litres.

I use around 2ml per litre of water with canna.

I grow in coco (used to be hydro)

However I don't use coco nutes.

I do use canna and have for many years but I've moved away from the COCO line to the AQUA VEGA line. Also use Ca and Mg along with Rhizotonic PK1314 and potassium Silicat. No boost no bud XL or any other boosters.

he is right, the ratio was per 10l just in case anybody was killing their plants and wondering why lol.
