Plan critique, please

Ok, need some advice from you experienced folks. I have a few grows under my belt I have been getting great quality but lower yields than desired @ only about .3 GPW. I think there are many reasons for this lower yield some my fault some not, either way; I will be retooling my set up for several reasons, one being to improve quantity so I'd like some opinions. I have 1 critical requirement which trumps all: a strict limit of 49 total plants and/or rooted clones up at any one time.

Room Plans:
2x600HPS in a 6x4 Flowering area
1 or 2x400MH for moms and veg
Floro for rooting clones
Moms - E&F for moms
Clones/Veg - Aero buckets
Flower - Fence post Aero/NFT or pure NFT
Only 6.5' total vertical space for plants, gap, lights and base.

Grow plans, 49 plants as follows:
2 week Perpetual @ 8 weeks total
4 Moms (Euforia, Cheese, W.Rhino, Chocolope)
12 Clones, best 8 into flower, 1 to rotate out a mom, 3 discarded
32 in flower

All comments welcome, but here are my questions.

1. With the limit of plants a true high denisity SOG seems out, so should I reduce the # of plants in flower and veg longer? I.e Go for less but bigger plants. (I'm worried about hieght on this idea) or maybe FIM?
2. Is 14 days from cutting to flower allowable realistic? Would it allow for any veg time?
3. Am I being too ambitious going for 4 strains?
4. If the plan as outlined seems good should I bother to lolipop given that my plants are likely to be small due to limited veg time and the density is 1.25 plant SQFT. which looks to be about a good bit less then Stinkbud or Al B.'s grows.
5. Can FIM be done effectively right as the plants for into flower or do the need some veg time to recover?

Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

1. Have you considered a SCROG? If you do decide to lessen the amount in flower and veg longer you can increase your yields by LST growing and just lollipop those bitches. you could have a blanket of tops in that space with 15-20 plants. With LST you don't have to worry about the plant slowing down after topping or fimming. If you flag your LST plants weekly they grow really fast, like really really fast.

2. 14 days might be too fast. Just watch your strains traits. A clone roots, and then after it really sets in it has just this vegetative growth spurt where the plant just takes a massive leap. Just look for it you'll see what I mean.

3. I don't think 4 strains is too ambitious just realize the following:

Every strain likes different amounts of nutrients and you will notice differences in the plant that will annoy you because, one, you will have decreased yields and, two, overall health of plant will fluctuate until you find that right mix for her. (Women are complicated across all life my friend)

You are probably going to favor the strain that grows bigger faster stronger, and the one you like to smoke the most.

I recommend cycling through your strains, i.e. only 2 strains in flower, same 2 in clone, other 2 in veg. and just alternate, that way you can keep your variety, and you'll be able to say, can't wait 2 more weeks till cheese, after smoking Euphoria for a month.

4 and 5. see #1

Because you will be limiting veg time with your current plan, I advise against it because of your plant limit. You will get more with less if you veg longer.

Happy Growing! :leaf:

good stuff thanks. I do limited LST to keep the canopy within a 6 inch variance. I have considered scrog, but have zero experience.

As a follow up question, I would be veging in another room (on another floor actually) so I would think trying to start a screen in one room them moving could be real trouble. If I topped them in veg to bush them out then vegged for 20-30 days, perhaps I could run a few more plant and only scrog during the stretch period when she goes into flower. Might that be a good comprimise?

i have a suggestion, sog/lollipop, i use a fencepost aero system aswell, my max height is 36inches and i too have a 6.5ft -7ft ceiling, system stands with rez below at 22inches, in the post system this is why i love it, its versitle, you can have no problem vegging in another room since you will get major stretch during first 3 weeks of flower, so they can grow into the screen, as for your vegg room i cant imagine you go longer than 2 weeks veg with your height restrictions, difference with scrog and sog is you nmeed more plant for sog, scroge you let the plant veg into your screen longer so less plants are need, i love the system cus you can put many plants within inches of eachother, cut the lower side branching(bottom1/4 of plant) so the sides wont be competing for light, the employment of this technique will allow all your plants bunched up with single colas to get all the light they need without blocking out its neighbor, and little if any veg time is required, scrog is very easy and you can bring your clones directly into your flower room, veg them there until they fill out the screen and then flower, longer veg time less plants opposed to more smaller trimmed plants and little to no vegg time, what ever suits your situation best, you should be very pleased with the fence post versatility, thanks for letting me share my opion on your thread

i know i repeated almost exactly what the other gentlemen said, but i just wanted to share my exp. with you since you will run the same system and with similar conditons involved, if its aero system expect ridiculous growth rates, i grew out bushy indicas, one week veg and 50 days flowering achieved 36-40inch plants, with the length of veg time you have in mind might end up with more plant than desired

if you aim for 10grams per plant and have around 50 plants thats a touch over a pound, sog is always a good option =) just a bitch in soil though
