Plan B...

Do you have a Plan B? You know, a backup plan for if when shit goes south?

I've been thinking about a Plan B a lot the last couple years and a big piece of my Plan B puzzle just came to fruition. For my upcoming trip to China I applied for and successfully obtained a Q2 family reunion visa for me and my daughter instead of the tourist visa. What this means is while in China we can use that visa as a springboard to then apply for a temporary resident permit to live in China. So if shit ever pops off here, or looks like it's going to pop off here, I'm going to take a bunch of mortgages out on my house, cash out and disappear me and my family to the mountains of deep China. In my head it sounds pretty stellar. We'll see. So how's bout you guys? Anybody else a paranoid freak and have some kind of back up plan?

To late for me to change my course now. When the shit hits the fan I'm doing the usual and running toward the gunfire. I figure my location, EDW adjacent, will put me at the 50 yard line.

I was 16 homeless and survived for 2 years, my plan B is to survive no matter what and I'm much better equipped to do that now. I live in a part of the world where sources of food and fresh water are more abundant that others, so I do have that advantage, I would get away from the city but never too far because some materials found in the city cannot be easily replicated in the wild.

Always! You can't count your chickens before they hatch! My back up plans are how I've managed to keep myself here for nearly 9 years.

I keep about an extra month worth of food in my house in case of a small natural disaster etc. If things get scary I have a farm about an hour from here that has a few years of food stored along with other provisions.

I strongly believe in my lifetime there will be a major catastrophe that will send me there. My money is on govt. bankruptcy.

My backup plan is prison. 3 hots and a cot.

Resort to cannibalism.

Plan C is a FEMA camp.

I have more ammo than there are living things within 30 miles of my farm.

I have been planing for awhile now..Food ammo guns and water and 4700 gallons of fuel and three generators....I have the high ground and there is one road in..When people from the city start coming like UncleBucks crowd they better come in blazing..I predict critical mass at some point..If you look at what happened in New Orleans when katrina hit it only took one day for the cops to run and it was a free for all after that..It got my attention..Good luck..

If the dollar/economy tanks it'll be the LA riots nationwide.

I read an interesting article by a guy who was trapped in Sarajevo during the blockade. He talked about watching from his building while the baddest assed Serbian commandos he knew loaded down with guns got taken out by masses of people with boards in their hands.
Practically speaking it is hard to plan for everything. You can get a small distiller for antiseptic reasons, and seeds/Food, water filtration, weapons, etc. BUT....

In my opinion KISS principle works best; arm yourself with knowledge and STERN and FAIR amounts of compassion and kindness. The key to survival is COMMUNITY --> banding together in small groups and contributing to others welfare co-operatively. Making yourself of value to others.
Bullets eventually run out. Knowledge of sustainability lasts a long long time. It isn't about how long you can last when SHTF it is about the quality of life while you last.
