Pipes-When To Stop Hitting

Hi, everyone.

I have what is likely a very stupid question. When smoking from a pipe, at what point does one stop hitting the pipe? After a few hits, I light it up but it doesn't feel like there's anything left. I don't want to smoke ash (is that even possible? is it extra carcinogenic?). Then, when I empty the bowl, I still see some unlit green left, which sucks because I'm not at the point I'd like to be yet.

Am I going about this all wrong? Should I keep on lighting and hitting until it can't light anymore? Looking forward to some enlightenment.

Note: There are no head shops near where I am, so I'm pretty much stuck with my little wooden pipe at this point.

I don`t know dude, theres no way to smoke a spliff or a bong according to the "book" lol If your desperate, you smoke it to the last bits and if your not you don`t e.g waste some green in the bowl or leave a few cm`s on the spliff etc...

But when I toke a pipe I toke a pipe. I got lungs to spare mothafucker!! :D I usually do it in however many tokes comfortable and as its running out I strike my light and place it right on the herb to see all the ash glow white hot and no smoke come out :D

On the other hand if I had 10-15 babies growing I wouldn`t be giving a toss :D

well if it causes cancer don't worry the ganja goodness will just cancel it out haha. i'd smoke that shit till I have a mouth full of ash, but thats why I use bongs- so you can rip it hard to the last hit. but to each his own

Put in a screen and you get no ash in your mouth. Smoke until you are high then wait until you are semi down or sober and smoke some more LOL. It doesn't get any easier.

Blowing the ash out is a good way to not waste the green. Green will stay in ash will fly out.

Actually the way I do it is toke a pipe until I`m full then hold it in wait for a while exhale. Strike the lighter, bring it on the pipe again and drag a breath and check, if anything is in red embers that means there is still stuff to burn away at, if not I discard.

Yea dude keep hittin it till all that's left is a while powdery ash, and make sure you pack it nice n tight. Then blow that out and pack another

hit the bowl until there is ash on the top. lightly tap the bowl out and stir your weed up man. then smoke til the rest is gone. youll know its gone if all the stuff in the bowl easily falls out and looks like ash. if there is weed left it will likely stay in the bottom of the bowl and then you stir and relight..

I usually try and keep going after it's kayed because there's typically some small bit of bud stuck on the bowl. Partly burned and stuck on the resin, lol...

when i stop getting smoke I stop smoking it. Keep the seeds out. They will give you smoke but no high.

I feel the same way about blunts lol but it be getting me too high to do shit hahaha i really need to get a bong or pipe asap

lol my wife hits it like a crack pipe....keep a flame on it till it's gone...
I personally will re-pack after no more smoke is made by applying a flame

idk bout yall but after reading the op it sounds like dude is lighting the bowl once and then letting it go out and repacking...lol.

I usually just light and toke away...Try using the metal piece at the top of your lighter as a mirror so you can see if there's any embers in the bowl while you're pulling.
