Hi all,
I have a friend who has been messing around with breeding for a couple years and he's come up with his first decent strain. Bear in mind he is by no means an expert nor does he have the space to keep a lot of mums and dads He just some knowledge how breeding works and went for it. So from what he filled me in he's crossed a Pineapple chunk mum with a Pineapple Punch father. He then chose the 4 best males from the first generation and back crossed them all with the mum. Then he grew all of those seeds out in order to see which was the best male father from the selection. From that male he crossed it again with the mum grew as many seeds as he could. He states there still was quite a bit of phenotype variation but not as much as he expected. He selected the 1 phenotype that smelled the most like pineapple juice while having the most trychome production and turned it into a mum cloned her and grew them out. He says he achieved what he wanted but took him a bit too long. I just got a tester in the mail so I thought I'd share it with you guys. I asked my friend to write a full breeding report and send it but he cannot be arsed. He says 'cannot be fucked to write that much about weed i rather smoke it or grow it'. I hope my broadstrokes explain it a bit. Anyways he calls what he sent me Pineapple Punk Crystalage.
Yes it has all the right in being called Crystalage. There are crazy amounts of it!! Very indica like buds very very dense, even though this was vacuum sealed the buds have its nice shape. Lime green buds with light orangy brown pistils and just loads! of 'crystalage'. I have to give it an unbiased 9.5/10 (hope you can see it well)
The smell is trully of pure fresh pineapple pulp. Very very sweet smell with some skunky undertones. It's not extremely pungent though it has creamy feel to its scent. I've had pineapple chunk before and it smells much more like pineapple than it for sure! I am very impressed to be honest. not the most complex smelling weed though a very good one. This might turnout to be top! I give it a 8.5-9/10
(Burning it down)
This is a lovely tender light smoke you could just toke all day long. Lovely and smooth. The taste is almost very disappointing in comparison with the smell. Dont get me wrong it tastes very nice however it doesnt taste of pineapple very much not 1/8th of what it smells. This said it has a nice creamy sweet taste with pineapple and slightly piney under tastes. The pineapple is hard to taste but still q pretty interesting taste and an extremely fluent smoke. I give it 6.5-7/10
This is stupidly strong no exaggeration it gave me the 'standard asian' eyes look by the 5th toke and i am too stoned to lift myh jaw up. It's just too heavy. Actually everything is pretty heavy right now. Its quite a stupefying high to be perfectly honest pretty active in the upstairs department as well. The manager really isnt too sure what's going on. Fucking great smoke! Did not expect how strong it turned out to be! A bit trippy and a true head fuck while your body is excitedly chilled. I really understand why he kept this one as a mum i doubt he found a stronger one in the whole bunch lol I have to give it a very well deserved. Long lasting high as well! 9/10
Overall I'm EXTREMELY impressed at his first breeding attempt. This is better than most strains I've come across in terms of high! It has a really strong pineapple pulp smell but lets you down in taste. It might be hard to improve the taste while keeping it this well balanced in terms of high. This really is a great smoke! I give it an 8.5/10 overall the way it smokes and its effects will stay with me forever.
