Pineapple Express G13 vs. Zambeza

One of my friends wanted some pineapple express so I told him I'd grow some. Most of them were auto which I've never done and don't want to do unless its outside so I picked up a 3 pack from zambeza and a 5 pack from G 13, all feminized.

I like both of the breeder's packs they came in. Zambeza had a seal on it to prevent tampering and also had all of the strain information on it. The G13 came in a nice little metal container.CAM00471.jpgCAM00472.jpg

CAM00470.jpg All the seeds looked similar. They were large and pale, a light gray color and all looked healthy.

I'm growing them in a dwc. Starting out under a led and will probably veg under some T5's. The zambeza are in the square rockwool and G13 is in the round ones. One of the G13 got dropped down the sink while I was trying to soak the rockwool. All of them have sprouted up except for a G13 but it has cracked its shell and has a taproot coming out. These were germinated on 3-2-16.

I left town for a few days last week and some of them dried out and died while I was gone. I have two of each left and half of a G13. All of them are growing really fast except for the G13 thats way behind the others.

Still have two of each all the same size and a G13 runt. I put the four in their own 5 gallon buckets and topped them after i took the picture. G13 is on the left, Zambeze on the right.

There was some slime on the roots and it seems to be messing up some of the lower leaves. The new leaves still look good and the new shoots are coming out where I topped them.

I used the hose and some water pressure to blast most of the slime off and put 1ml of bleach in each bucket, hopefully it kills whatever is left an prevents more from coming back. Here is some before and after of me pressure washing the slime off the roots.

They don't look too good now, i'm too embarased to post an update pic. I started using some pool shock and I think the slime is gone but the roots still look bad, hopefully some new roots will start growing. I raised the light to help it stretch so I can clone the two tops and give it a proper grow. I usually don't have this problem. All my other plants are slime free. If they don't bounce back I might put them in soil.

Also I'm sure some pictures would help, some very knowledgeable and helpful people on this site that could possibly guide you in a direction you haven't thought of for a possible remedy. Just my .2 cents.

The roots kept getting slimy so I put them in some peat moss and vermeculite. They are looking a little better but still growing very slowly.

Two weeks later and they look great. They are big enough to clone and one of the G13 is showing flowers and I just got a new 600 watt hid so as soon as I get the new flowering room ready, they are going in there. All four plants still look very similar. G13 is bottom of the pic and zambeza at the top.

They've been cloned and they are under the 600 watt hps. Still on a veg schedule, will put them on 12 starting tomorrow. I hope the clones will root they look good but they started flowering before i could cut them.

I'm not sure what's what, but if they're autos here's a few tips.

Don't clone them, it's worthless as they're on the same internal timer as the mother.
Don't top/prune them, they need every second of non stressed veg time possible. - only use LST.
Don't transplant them. Germ emm, them put them in the final pot or drip setup ect.
Autos don't need a 12/12 ever, for flowering or otherwise. I run 18/6 or 20/4 for the entire grow. Some run a full 24 with them.

The last few shots look far better lol, resilient little fuckers ayy.
