'pineapple express' (chronic pineapple plant of questionable origin)

I don't know exactly what this strain is, but it is awesome, and I'm keeping it, so I'm more or less writing it for fun. If anyone has experience with G13 labs pineapple express and has had a similar looking pheno to mine, or something else strikingly similar, by all means chip in.

So, I got the clone of this strain from a local dispensary, more out of a whim, and because it was the only fruity sativa dom they had. This being Colorado, I severely doubt the authenticity of nearly every clone you can get at a dispensary, as I have been burned on that more times than I can count. Thank god for them internets and their seed companies. Anyways, in veg this plant was nothing special, and also when I first came to doubt the authenticity of the 'pineapple express' claim, as she remained short (for a hybrid sativa/dom) and bushy throughout a prolonged four week veg period, reaching a height of around 2 feet. However, when placed into flower, several outstanding qualities emerged. From the instant real bud production started (around 1.5 weeks into 12/12) the resin production was outstanding, and the plant had a very pleasant citrus and very light skunk scent. The sativa nature of the plant revealed itself upon the second week of flowering, as a fairly decent stretch occurred, opening up the plant and giving her an open pine tree shape. Total flowering time was approx. 8 weeks including 5 days of flushing with distilled water. More information and pics can be found in my grow journal, but I will include a couple sample pics here. And now, the template!

Around two minutes after the first hit, this herb is the cannabis equivalent of two cups of coffee and a cigarette. No Chinese eyes here, this is some seriously speedy, good morning style herb. I have a substantially lengthy history of smoking sativa dominant plants, so I might not be the best to judge negative effects, but I have definitely not noticed any paranoia or extreme raciness. Instead, the herb imparts a very alert-yet-contemplative high that is equally suited for in front of the tv or hard at work. One of my patients remarked, "that was the most fun washing dishes I have ever had." The intial rush of alertness/awakeness subsides after approximately 1 hour (after you have stopped smoking, it will maintain as long as you keep burning) and mellows into an enjoyable somewhat stoney buzz. I would liken it to the stone associated with particularly potent cuts of durban poison; not necessarily a couch-lock stone, but more of a deep and contemplative mental state. My patients report both pleasing results for pain remediation, as well as that the buzz does not interfere with sleep when that time comes, and my personal usage would agree with this as well.

In all, I am very fond of this bud, and will not only be keeping it for continued grows, but will be using at least one mother as a future breeding project for the purpose of increasing the yield, which was the only detriment of this cut. In closing, I will include some pictures of the herb after a quick 2 week cure, with a nikon camera and with a 35x digital microscope. For pics of the plant before it was cut down, see my journal. I am also thinking of setting up a flikr feed since apparently rollitup just kills the resolution of my photos.

i have another PE freebie i plan to test on my next grow and will likely breed it to a malawi gold male. i'm happy to hear it has a motivational buzz. i was set to toss it for being a skunk. i had another pineapple bud i scored a year or two ago that was OK. it still had stone, but was clearly better than average stoner bud.

i think in the long run, i wouldn't like it because of it's creeper stone. i didn't like that effect in LSD & mataro blue, but those have KO level creeper stones where you describe what sounds more like a body weight stone than a tiring one. if i crossed it with malawi gold, a lot of that stone should disappear in theory.

i'm a little more excited to try it now because of your review. thanks for sharing
