Pinching the top Cola

Should I pinch the top cola on my plant? She is 18 uncehs tall and 12 days into flowering. No real buds formed but lots of white hairs the buds just don't have any real mass yet. A friedn suggested that I pinch the top Cola s o it splits into 2 shoots and make the buds spread out. He says about 30% more.

Is there any truth to this? and should I pinch the top. Since it is already flowering and only 1 main shoot would pinch the top damage the plant?

Should i just leave it alone?

Thanks

no... you should have done that before you flowered. It will slow things down to a crawl if you pinch it now... Just leave it alone.

At what point in the vegetative state, though?
It all depends how you want your plant to grow, i sometimes do it at about 6" so they grow almost as two main shoots, but you could go it as late as 2 weeks before switching to flowering, i wouldnt do it any later than that as it will slow growth down dramatically while it recovers. I have has some plants refuse to split though, and just slowed the growth and made the plant tilt.

Your friend is giving you some pretty weak advice so far. Don't pinch a flowering cola and don't reveg a plant 12 days into flowering just to take clones. You can take clones well into flowering. I've done so as late as three weeks. Takes a bit longer to root but IMO would be nuts to reveg just for clones.

BOLOGNA!!! i pinch mine in flower all the time! before the lights go off they were starting to point back towards the light again. not only that, the buds were already formed and later were the size of my fist. they took on a weird shape/growth pattern. hell, i don't even start tying down until flower.
