There is already enough food produced on this planet to feed every person every day with enough calories and balanced nutrients. Going GM is just another pressure put on the planet, bigger crops need more fertilisers to get that big. synthetic fertilizer causes massive damage to the global ecosysems.

Please explain what an 'synthetic' fert is? N is N. P is P. ect...just different sources thats all. The phosphates in laundry detergents cause a much greater ecological impact than a farmer ferting his field. Its actually the pesticides we farmers use that have the capacity to cause harm when misused and over applied.

A farmers basic row crops: field corn, soybeans and wheat are the very foundation of the worlds food chain. Without these 3 base plants the entire food chain would not exist as we know it today. Manufacturing would grind to a halt. And the fuel for our cars and homes...you think a gallon of fuel is high now!

I'm not against Masantos research . I am again the fact they can and are copyrighting DNA. Lets take this a few years into the future. This technology has become advanced enough to enhance a human embryo. That human is now the property of the company.

Of course i am going a little extreme by comparing humans to plants but it's the same none the less.

I get and feel where your coming from Ryan. There will always be battles to be waged. Lines to be crossed. I dont like where the world seems to be heading anymore than most. But I do not think the apocalypse is around the corner either. Its a FUCT world we inhabit.....
Nice sig. Love the sarcasm...

i mean purified fertilizers e.g. not from the breakdown of composts and manures by bacteria and rhizomes etc. As they are applied in crystal form they are easily leached out the soil and accumulate in streams and rivers etc and cause eutrophication and toxicity

thats great supertramp, i dont own a car and i think cars are just remnants of the ignorant power stuggle from the first and second world wars turned mainstream. They are part of that same war, theat never stopped. Just a mechanism for faster growth to oust anothers opponent and get 'the lead'. Just humans being childish.

Yet you stop hugging your tree long enough to use the technology we refer to as the internet. Hypocrisy at its best........

You mean purified so they do not introduce the amounts of heavy metals into the soil like many organic amendments do?

Lolz at the adherence to the 'religion' of science in this thread. Anyone heard of the philosophy of science? I personally value the experiences of people who have been doing things for thousands of years over modern applications of limited scientific methodologies being passed off as THE truth. Please! Remember, the cannabis farmers who tested these techniques would have been doing non sensi plants mainly. They would need seeds for the next years crops. That leaves room for a quantitative analysis of the relative benefits (or not) of piercing the stem. They would not have been basing their decisions on an abstract reading of whether the psychoactive effect was stronger or not (although if it was significantly weaker I feel they would probably not have continued). That the practice continued for so long would suggest to me that they were happy with the efficacy of the technique. As is the rather nice Aussie fella in that first vid posted on the subject in this thread.

Why are people so forcefully against this technique? If you don't agree with it, don't do it! Trying to ridicule and belittle others for having different beliefs is suggestive of a personality flaw (or someone being a troll) as far as I'm concerned. :peace:

when i was first shown how to grow by a friend. he always said to pierce the stems to produce more resin. i think it might even be in the old grow books of the 70s-80s would love to know the perfect time and place to do this? i think there are certian stresses (tricks) one can do to increase resin, dark before harvest, haveing a non flowering male in the room, super cropping, etc.

or just try the old white widow light deprivation technique and give it NO light for its last week. i tried it on a flowering clone i had laying around and it really does produce more trichs.

Dif between piercing and "super crop" please?
super cropping refers to pinching a branch between your thumb and index finger until it flattens, then bending the branch over so that it is horizontal. This results in much larger buds (personal experience). i never tried piercing, but I did have a plant that was topped for two main stems (looked like a Y), and the stems split at the base (looked like a V) like 3 weeks before harvest...this plant ended up yielding more bud than the others, and the bud was more potent.

i was always told stress = resin
be it supercropping, piercing, light depro, etc.

the newest one i heard is you put a male plant stalk (potted plant with no leaves) in your flowering room. the presence of a male stalk makes the girls put out more resin looking for pollen.

Resin looking for pollen? Its the pistols that collect pollen, not resin. Resin is a defense against UV light. See the folks that post such ridiculous claims do not even have a basic working knowledge of the plant. Mumbo jumbo and mystical magical methods. With the great results solely the result of POS(power of suggestion) and wishful thinking.
