Coolhood update.
Wow..very beautiful and powerful setup,is that 5 inch duct you're using?
Do u use a go thru filter at the extraction? If u do,where do u place the fan, between the sinks and filter,or after the filter?
Does it make a whistle nois when the air go thru the fins ?
sorry for all the question,i find this setup intriguing:clap:

I use 4" I have a y with a sail switch so if I don't have enough airflow no lights. ~100cfm blower. Carbon filer is an inline and the blower sucks! Last in line. Mufflr after that. All stealth. No whistle. Very little noise.

I built this light about a year ago after my old 400w ballast shit the fan! Anyway, it has evolved quite a bit from the original design, but it works well for my space... Id like to expand on this in the future to get rid of the led bulbs, but for now this will work. Its quite the monstrosity, but i feel the led bulbs really do help with the sides and corners. I also incorporate 2 uvb bulbs, which i will occasionally alternate from front to back.
The LEDs are cree CXA's which i built right before the CXB line came out. They've ran pretty solid for about a year now, going into the 3rd grow. I mounted all the drivers and such on the top of my cab.

Nice work!
As bassman said, totally a non issue, as long as diameter is reasonably scaled.

New light is done, is it bad that minus cable is slightly longer than plus, i thought it'll be better looking, but i don't know the cons.

Q : What are those red emitters ? Can you tell us what you know about them ? (price, efficiency, dominant wavelength .. maybe a spec link ?)

Cheers

It was a custom order, 6 * XPEPHR-L1-0000-00801+1 XT-E CW on one base.
12.5$ - each

Well after lurking and reading the LED forums the past two months I ordered everything and completed two panels.
Went with the CXB3590 3500K CD 36V and MW HLG-185H-C1400. Running passive.
This thread was great for design ideas, copied a couple that I liked.
I'm ready to build two more now, I'll have to wait until kingbright is back from Chinese New Year. I guess I can work on far red in the meantime.

I want to make sure I get a little supplemental blue spectrum light in my diy. So if I'm getting 8 cxb3590's should I do 6-3500&2-5700,6-3500&2-4000, or all 8-4000? It's awesome that the 5700ks give out 18,000 lumens compared to anything below that at 10-12,000 lumens. That's why it's even listed as an option.

Thanks,

I'm a firm believer that deep/hyper red is the way to go to ufrther improve our cob builds ...

I'm surprised 4T are still so hard to come by ... wish I could get my hand on some.

... when I search 4T I always end up on this old post of @alesh @SupraSPL and myself from 3 years ago (!) already looking for them ...
