Pictures and questions, outdoor grow

Dont bother flushing unless you are going to the toilet. Its just stoner talk.
You may want to LEACH the soil before planting something else there but again you would not of used many chemicals and there would not be a salt build up in the soil, so I wouldn't bother

Pouring boiling water on your plant kills it from the roots. Plant then fades very fast. Seems to start the curing process a little faster. Really only used in pot grows not in the ground grows so dont bother with it.

I wouldn't worry about flushing an outdoor in the ground organic plant... I never have and their taste is fine..
I just finished my first Dr Earth grow using the flower girl, plus a couple others.. worked good, you can use it next year...
Want to borrow my chain saw?
Thanks for the info. I feel better about feeding the thing now.

Funny about the chainsaw! The trunk is friggen huge. It's so big and close to the house I would rule out it coming back in the spring. I wonder if that's ever happened. I'll cover it in mulch and dream about it over the winter! Can't wait to take pics of it when it's chopped.

Have never heard of boiling the roots, do tell!

I have not read up on flushing since I never intended to feed it. Does it really need it? I mean I'm not growing in hydro with a bunch of chemicals. Just a little feeding here no?
No, you don't need to flush outdoors and boiling roots is crazy talk. Keep it simple. You're doing a great job. I've enjoyed following your thread.

Da Bearsss are really pissing me off. Cubs looking tough though. Blackhawks!

Ok it's fed. And my dogs went out and proceeded to try and lick/eat the shit.

Wait and and see time I guess, I'll feed again Fri, and again the following Thurs. Every 6 days.

I get shit for my accent all the time. I'm more pronounced than my colleagues. I don't even hear it. They like it when I say mudderfucker.

Thanks for following! I've checked out many threads on here, some boring, some quite exciting. I've found the ones with the most pictures catch my interest, (unless they're blurry shitty pics which really grinds my gears) 20161022_135515.jpg 20161022_135527.jpg 20161022_135545.jpg 20161022_135608.jpg Screenshot_2016-10-22-14-08-21.png so I've tried to keep with that theme here. After all a picture is worth a thousand words!

I have not read up on flushing since I never intended to feed it. Does it really need it? I mean I'm not growing in hydro with a bunch of chemicals. Just a little feeding here no?

You`ll notice I did not use the word "flushing"

I said finishing

I sometimes flush with K to finish or sugar or sometimes it`s very rare but I can be lazy and just use water

When I say flush, I mean dump a lot of water onto the plant so its over watered, ensuring the roots stay very wet

but also I can use the term to mean setting up the soil/coco for the next use

See with a fast turn around many people choose to wash the salts and stuff out while the plant is still finishing

Now overwatering or using boiling water or using aspirin, triggers a chemical response in the plant, and makes the flowers age faster and the plant will brew up the sugars in it into alcohols.... like what happens during curing

So where as I don`t often "flush" I always "finish" my plants.... finishing can mean extra waterings or extra feedings or boiling the roots, or using aspirin

It comes down to cost too, why would I use expensive items in a feed on a plant that is getting cut down in a week or less ? even upto 2 weeks, I cut boosters and seaweed by 4 weeks till cut or I`m just throwing money away into the dirt.

Some people will say "never flush" others will say "you must give just water and loads of it for 2 weeks or more"

other people say lower temps others higher temps

It`s all down to personal taste

I mean look Mike... you`ve gone and got yourself some plant food to finish your plants with..........

What ever people do near the end of the grow to make their buds have a taste or a style that suits them is their finishing technique ... some people Leach and some people call leaching "flushing"

It`s not the same "finishing" is a term and how everyone finishes a plant is different

And normally depends on the strain... how long it`s been flowering.... and many other factors

Like when I use aspirin it`s normally because the plant has to be cut in 1 to 4 weeks and its not aged enough forget bud size, I like my buds to be a certain amount of ripe, sometimes I lose yield to speed up the ripening but that`s what I care about

If I have a full veg area and a full bloom area and an empty jar I`d rather speed a plant up them deal with some hooky blackmarket herb dealer....

The boil method does work pretty well if your running low temps and have no hot spots, I`d ask @RM3 what he thinks

but I`m guessing he`ll just say pour 1 to 4 kettle loads on it about 3 to 6 days before you cut it down.

Personally I would give 100mg of aspirin every watering from about 2 to 4 weeks before you plan to cut it, if she`s not got yellow/brown enough for you by herself by then

That plant food should really speed her up now lets hope

My response to all you've written there is basically... Cool man I'll look forward to rereading all this next season.

I mean I wasn't lying when I said I've never watered this thing. Ever. That one gallon I dumped on it today with the bloom food was the very first time I've done anything to it ever. Aside from trimming it when i first got on here and was told to.

Sounds like there's a lot to finishing depending on what you like. I can see that. Problem is I couldn't tell one strain from another. It's been many, many years since I smoked at all. Maybe once I smoke this shit I could tell something different if it was given to me, but It would take a while. I drink diet pepsi for breakfast and throughout the day, I know it like the back of my hand, but couldn't tell you a Starbucks from a dunkin donuts coffee. All tastes like shit of you ask me lol.

So in closing, all that info is much appreciated, I'm sure I'll use it at some point. For now I think I'll just feed it, and chop it down mid Nov. If it doesn't die from frost before that. I suspect the leaves will still be green. There is zero hint of them turning colors. Very strange in my eyes. Most of the rest of everything is dying or dead. Not sure why this thing looks like it should in July.

Does it matter if the leaves aren't yellowing before I harvest?

Thanks again!

Not really if the buds look like their ready, normally people who like to yellow as much of the leaf as they can do so to ripen the buds faster... the sugar is sent from the leaves to the buds you see, that`s part of what people call "the fade"

but you don`t have to do it..........

Less ripe bud normally gives more of a head high

ripe bud is a head high and some body buzz

very ripe bud is normally more of a body buzz and less of a head high

obviously it comes down to genetics most "sativa" plants give more of a head high

It`s cool Mike I like putting the info out there...... and most of the time I`m on here I`m getting paid so I lose nothing if no one reads it... and sometimes writing this stuff down helps me to understand what the hell I`m actually doing

It`s hard to explain sometimes to yourself what you do when you see a plant and start picking what you think it needs to change to something you think is better.......

a lot of the time at the start things do not go how you expect and results can look different

but then you get experience and you just start doing stuff and moving fast, when I garden even people that know how to grow very well can get lost watching me.... as they don`t use the same methods and understand different things to me

plus a lot of what I buy is cost vs effect so some of my "items" seem strange as they are the cost effective and size effective versions

where as most people growing do something very different to myself and yourself

They pick a brand like "canna" or "AN" and then only use that company's products and sometimes pay stupid prices for stuff they could get much cheaper that`ll work better

but I`ll give them that saying "what is that" and "do I need it" and "whats in it thats doing that" and then reading and chatting to people to work it all out

Well it takes years many years to get enough crap in your head that you can wing it and do well

You did an outdoor run and you kept it simple

so you know now with a few products and a bit of work you could smash some huge trees in a season

most people don`t do that... most people start out with a seed and a million bottles they are told they "need"

then we see an over watered plant and a post saying "help" or "dying plant"

Mate you did yourself a good service going as far as you did alone, that semi wild plants looking nice

and if you do another next year I`m sure she`ll be even sexier :)

Funny... I can't remember what the heck kinda high I would get. Probably cause I was tripping on acid as well or drunk, or possibly stuck on a wickey stick (joint dipped in formaldehyde).

Grew up inner city and was doing that shit when I was 12. Surprised I mad it out alive.

Looking to just mellow out. Kinda hoping the shit won't be that potent. Most of the shit out today would probably make me vomit.

Looks like we got an OG on hand. haha. The herb definitely mellows you out. Have you decided on a strain and the seedbank you're going to order from? If not, I just got an order from James Bean (seedbank) in 3 business days from the day I ordered. This was the first time I ordered from a domestic seedbank. All previous orders were from Canadian seedbanks which sucks because it takes 2 weeks to get your order and they have to go through customs so sometimes they'll get nabbed and you'll get a nice little letter in the mail with no seeds.

i feel your pain, i spent my childhood and teen years going to school in Mn. and working for my family in Tn. in the summers, people in Mn. made fun of me for sounding like a hillbilly, people in Tn. said i talked too damn fast to understand....

I'm convinced the neighbors know exactly what is going on here. They spend all kinds of time by the fence. They act like they're pulling weeds or some shit, but clearly they're peeping.

I have another neighbor who is a doctor, came strolling back here a week ago and laughed his ass off. He's totally cool with it and is pulling for me. He says the neighbor next door would be crazy to call cause theyd be starting WW3 for the rest of eternity.

There's a weirdness in the air.
