Hey, If you are looking at this please comment. All input, possitive or constructive is wanted. Its no fun seeing people look at it and only a few respond. I want to get good at growing such a beautiful thing, but I need the help of all the other enthusiasts out there! Whether to compliment my progress, tell me I suck, or give me advice, please hit me with something.

We are two months old. Just about to start flowering. As you can see we have a ton of cfls. 23/26w, 5/13w, 2/42, and 1/19w. total we have 31 bulbs and somewhere around 766watts/ and close to 2300watt equiv. We veg'd using only 8 26w bright white cfls. So this should be a major change for flowering. Heat and air we have under control. Temps usually range from 72-84 and humidity from 20-30%. We use FF ocean forrest soil, FF grow big, liquid seaweed, banana mana (organic banana extract nute) so far to veg. We also have FF tiger bloom and FF big bloom to start after a short while into flowering.

I have grown successfully before, but only soil, no nutes so I have a handful of questions that would be greatly appreciated if anyone can answer.

During flowering does foliar feeding continue or not because it may cause bud rot?
Other than the bloom nutes, is it necessary to use any other nutes anymore?
Is flushing smart to do before you flower, or more so the few weeks before harvest?
We are doing great with the FF soil and the line up, so I will def keep that going according to schedule. What are your views on making your own soil recipes. Ocean forrest is already working and working very well at that. Do you think it would be beneficial if I created my own to transplant into for flowering until chop while still using ffof. We are in 3 gals now (the bigger two) and the smallest in a one about to be transplanted. Most likely will either go up to 5gals or stay at three, anyone have a thought on that?

I have a bunch of stuff I got over time from people, I have : Pearlite, Vermiculite, Jamaican bat gauno, Sea bird guano, liquid lime, liquid seaweed, epsom salt, Algamin Kelp meal 1-0-2, earthworm castings, organic bone meal 6-9-0, organic bloodmeal 12-0-0, and Terracycle all purpose liquid plant food. Anyone recommend a home made soil ratios using ffof (fox farm ocean forrest)? Or should I stick with what I have for now?

Also, I have some Happy Frog fertilizer Fruit and Flower 5-8-4, Do you think I can use this in combination with the FF tiger and big bloom while following the FF schedule?

The first few shots are the set up, the kids, and then there are about 3 shots of each. The larger two are weed bushes..hell yea! They are all sitting at around 24-27 in tall. Nodes are not alternating yet, but there are many nice fat grow sites coming along.

So what can all you fine folks tell me?

cfl's are expensive.... with what you spent on them, you could have bought a 600w hps.... you dont need that much wattage for 3plants.... a 400w HID would be more than sufficient.. whatyou have goin on looks like a fire waiting to happen... just my opinion.

other than that, looks good :)

dont foiler feed during flower the buds will get mold,
and flush about 3 weeks before harvest after the flush dont water again, let the plant dig for those nutes

Hey sexwax

I'd be careful starting two of the exact same threads in different forums. Mods may not like that. Just a friendly warning :bigjoint:

GoGrow, so its a bad idea to try and get advice from all diff areas, not to be rude, but covering all your bases and making what you want marketable is the best way to get advice. I dont get why it is such an issue. All I want is help and knowledge. I here for the same reason you are.

And quick question for ya gogrow or anyone. If I have heat levels and temps under control can too much wattage harm the plants? Isnt more light better. I also got all the lights for free, so this was a super inexpensive way to go about it.

What do you mean multiple threads? like putting it up in diff areas? How can you reply without making a new thread. Should I be quoting or posting quick replies.

Wow. Any chance you can get me some free lights? haha. And its not the more light thats better. Its the light penetration that really counts. Look at riddleme's plant. He uses one cfl right above the plant and it's perfect. I would redo the grow area or just do maybe one or 2 plants for now. They look beautiful but its over done with the lights up there. Try lower the lights around the sides of the plants and have a few on top. That'd be the best. Or space out the branches, like LST or something. Maybe some trimming. And that way you can get rid of some of the excess lights

we dont let anyone else do it, and you will not be the first exception ;)

more light is better, which is why i stand my ground.... you would be much better off with a HID light.... lumens dont add up, so your setup there is only as powerful as the most powerful bulb in there.... basically, you're running twice as much power, to get half the light ;)

i do understand getting the bulbs for free being a major factor in your setup though.... fuckin sucks being broke.. i live that too:lol:

So you are saying if i took a bunch of them out it would grow the exact same as with them?
Yeah pretty much. Or you can lower half of them to lower parts of the plant, around it which could make more use of them. But the way you have it. You can take a lot of them out. The ones on the ground.... Idk. They may but benefitcial. Not totally sure cause they look pretty far down there on the ground and the light has to hit the top of the leaf, not the bottom

hold on so gogrow your telling me lumens dont add up?

sooo your saying if you have 2 27w CFL bulbs each is 1700 it doesnt make it 3400?
