Well this is my first pics of the lil one in the AG. As you can see I have some brown spots...I just adjusted the ph down and now the lil girl is reaching for the sky. I plan on transplanting her into her very own AG as soon as my second one gets here. Enjoy the pics and give me any feed back you have.
Thanks

i just started growing marijuana in my aerogarden about 2 weeks ago. all i did was put 2 seeds in each sponge, and waited. of course i added the nutrients, but other than that, i just set it to herb setting and sure enough, all of the plants have sprouted. the tallest is almost 3 inches tall. this is my first time ever growing pot and im not sure if i am doing everything i can for this. i have a few questions that i am hoping a kind soul will answer for me!!!
1.) should the lighting be set to 12/12, or 24/0? and if so, should i change it immediately, or gradually?
2.) what exactly am i supposed to do with the mylar? i mean, i need specific instructions on how to set it up correctly.
3.) what do i do once the plants get too tall for the aerogarden? is there a special way i should transfer them to some where else? i would like to keep them hydroponic.
4.) is there anything else i should know? like, is it really a safe idea to put this aerogarden setup in a closet? im scared of a fire or something. especially if i am setting up the mylar. can someone tell me the safest way to do this?
5.) how long does it take for one of these plants to start producing buds?

sorry so many questions. i saw this aerogarden and immediately had to buy it. i figured what the hell. i know it would pay off once i started getting buds. but im just not so sure i know what im doing and dont want to get excited for something i could accidently fuck up and destroy. xox

tape the mylar to the back not the sides to let air circulate get the extra cfls or you'll pay 4 it in the long run and a big size fan if you r useing the ag inside a grow box, closet etc make sure temps are correct or u will get a 2 inch plant in 2 mths,,,:peace:420 im here 4 u bro!!!

thanks for all the help! ok. so i went to walmart today (unfortunately) and they had no clue what mylar was. i heard you could substitute some sort of wrapping paper or camping blanket. i couldnt find anything like that. but i did manage to find an air stone, some tubing for it, and a pH test kit. im not sure how to put in my airstone (i am blonde, and a stoner, so thats a double whammy for me lol). i also dont know what pH levels are supposed to be at. i also purchased some generic miraclegro nutrients that are all purpose, supposed to work for any type of plant, and it specifically says for hydroponics on the container. you are supposed to add a tablespoon per gallon of water once every 2 to 4 weeks. do you think that is ok to use instead of the aero garden nutrients? also, im trying to figure out the sexes of my plants. i still need to do some research and look at some pics. i have planted 2 seeds in each pod, yeilding a total of 10 plants growing. my friend said thats too many for the aerogarden, and i should try planting like 5 or 7 instead. i wanted to pull out the male plants and leave only the females in. wtf is mylar anyway? is that what i am supposed to ask for when im at the store? maybe you can answer some of my questions.
also, is there a risk for fire? if i were to put my aerogarden in my closet, and move my clothes somewhere else, would that be ok? im worried about the fan thingy too. i have like a 12x12 fan that i have, but should i directly aim it at the aerogarden (of course about 2 feet away and not blasting at it) and keep it in my closet too? fire is what worries me the most. i walked into my house today and it felt especiallly warm in my bedroom. it could have been the heat from outside, but i have a feeling its from the aerogarden. is that something i should be worried about or is there little cause for concern in this matter?
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: damn, it seems like i need to smoke. its been one hell of a day, let me tell you!!! ps. im not a bro, im a chic!

i use an aerogrow too and the only problem i had was that my plants outgrew the height of my light...so i realized that the cord that powers the light is the same as the power cable of my ps2. i plug that into the light and built a support to hold the light..it works awesome and i can keep the light on a 24 hour cycle instead of 12/12 until flowering begins and then i use 12 on 12 off

sorry fist for assuming you were a dude ,,, ur safe with fires just use a good surge protector its not allot of volts like hps (go to walmart and ask 4 emergency blanket 2.00 )to many plants pick strongest in each pod not tallest most likely males you'll have 7 after 3 weeks you should be able 2 have a idea which ones are female shorter fater males tend to be long and skinny but a malnutrioned female can be stragley and skinny now you'll pick 3 plants out of 7 outside right corner outside left corner and middle pod ,the temperature will get real hot when the ag is on i dont suggest putting it in your closet in the summer to much heat will slow your grow to a crawl closets with ag better in winter but still need allot of strong air movement to keep temps down and make stems real strong ,if you have a room were there are no windows or cover it so you cant see lights on 24/7 outside, grow on a dresser or a cedar chest or a table but u will need 4 extra cfls from walmart 42w equivalant to 150w they are 2700 lumens each and they perfect veg lights you could do a whole grow under them they are so good !!!!!!!!!!!! no miracle grow anything ever not designed 4 ur needs next your not working with allot of room so get flora nova grow and flora bloom (as soon as they sprout give them 1/4 strength nutes and week later give them little less than 1/2 strength and 3 week half strength 4 week full strength 1 tsp.) 1 ltr bottles 20.00 ech i consider it to be the best 4 hydro or soil keeps them growing fast with many side branchs without pruning them check them in the mornig and the night my plants 2 they drink half the res in mornig and night so i keep extra gallon water already nuted for their thirst dont let the roots dry out this grow i didnt use my airstone because they use the water 2 quick any help you need i am here 4 u beautiful ,,,:peace:420 p.s i love blondes and stoners lol

wow thanks for the advice! ok so here's where im at now. i found mylar paper and set it up on the sides and the back. i bought a pH test kit with increasers and decreasers (which i think i'm only supposed to add them when its time to fill the res and add more nutrients, about at week 2?). i ordered some 6-4-4 nutes from foxfarm and they should be here in a week. how much should i give my plants at first? a whole tablespoon per gallon? or should i start off with less? the only nutes i have given my plants are the first starter nutes that came with the ag.
next, i uprooted some of my plants to prevent overcrowding. so now i am left with 5 plants. its almost been 2 weeks, and one is about 3 inches tall, the others are about half that size. i have an airstone sitting in the res as well. 4-6 leaves on each plant. i have also been rotating my plants every other day to prevent root entanglement, and to ensure that each plant essentially receives the same amount of light. my lights are still set to the herb/basil setting, which gives them 18/6 light. do i need to switch them to 12/12? and if so, do i do that gradually or is it ok to do it all at once? im so excited! other than that, im hoping everything will work out. the optimum pH level is 5.5-5.8, from what i have heard. if i am mistaken about anything, or if you could offer some advice or input that would be greatly appreciated! i hope im off to a good start. one last question: is it illegal to purchase seeds from amsterdam, and what is the likelihood of getting caught if it is illegal? hmmmm

You switch to 12/12 all at once. You need bloom when you start budding your plants. 6 4 4 is for veg your ph is perfect and i think you are good to go Change your water every 4 to 5 days your plants will love you for it trust me

thanks a lot!!!! so the 6-4-4 is the wrong nutrients? damnit. i thought for sure i ordered the right stuff. but i am going to try it anyway. i still don't know if i should give them a tablespoon per gallon at first, since my plants are not even 2 weeks old yet. anyone able to help me out on that?

try going a teaspoon first to see how they respond then graudually give them more as they get bigger and you did get the right nuts 6 4 4 will be good for at least 2 weeks of 12/12 then you start giving them bloom

id take the mylar off the sides bad for air circulation its illegall to order seeds from any country you just need to find a seller who has the customers best intrests at heart and i can only think of -1 -(uno no dos) and no matter if you rotate every daty all your roots are going to form one big huge webbed mass so if you pull a plant be carefull and have some hygrogeime i think its how u spell it your roots will eat dead roots with this sh@t ,:peace:420 start off 1/4 tsp then week 2 -1/2 tsp and so on get ur babbys used 2 feeding thats what i do with flora nova nothing betttter!!!!!!! or u'll b sorry  and extra cfls in 3 weeks i have bigg nappy headed bushs
