Pics of my first grow

I put 4 N.L. seeds & one seed I found in a bad of weed in the ground on May 24th. I left them outside for 8 weeks of flowering & then into the "case" I made in the basement.. I have them under 12/12 cycle. Using 4 4' full spectrum floro tube & 4-4' floro tubes for growing in aquariums. Total of 8 4' tubes in a 20" deep, 50" wide & 48" high box I built.

Think I should have put them in at 4 weeks instead of 8. Getting pretty big for the case.

I want to get better lights but I think their doing just fine on what I have now.

I figure I have about 4 weeks left to go before the harvest.

I have ben doing some LST so the entire plant is within 2' of the lights.

Im going to move them around a little to let them spread out a little more & tie down the few long reaching branches to get the whole plant even closer to the lights. That should make bigger buds lower down the plant.

Been feeding them (probably poorly) 1/2 tbls spoon molasses, 1/2 tbls spoon of some fish emulsion & 1/2 tbls spoon some liquid bloom fert. 5-30-5 on the bottle. every week or so with regular water in between.

Notices a few brown tips on the ends of the leaves. NOt sure what that means.

Any ideas or am I ok..

I ended up with 3 girls. 2 N.L. & one (the smaller one in the square pot) is unknown. Seems smaller sized leaves. MIght be a sativa of some sort?

as mentioned. I think I have about 4 weeks to go, but Im in no hurry & will give them as long as neccessary to make them All they can bE!

Thanks :) I like the t-5s due to the size of my case & the heat issues involved with HPS. Im just playing around with it really at this point, but I might get myself a 400wat HPS set up for Christmas. But if the t-5's are working for me why change it?

Does the light effect the quality/strength of the weed or does it have more to do with quantity/yield?

I got 1 plant last year (ww grown at a friends house outside) & half of it lasted me for the entire year so with these 3 all mine I suspect I should be good for a while.

5.jpg4.jpg9.jpg1.jpg3.jpg2.jpg11.jpg7.jpg12.jpg8.jpg10.jpg6.jpgThis is August 30th so they have been under 8 t-5's 4 full spectrum & 4 lights for aquariums (You can really see the red when you compare them to the full spectrum)
I seem to be getting little brown tips on the one plant. 2 are N.L. & the third was a seed I found in a 1/4 I bought.

I think I have about a month or so before their ready to harvest.

Comments very welcome. Need feed back to produce better buds next time :)

Updated pictures. These were taken September 20th? Original seeds went in the ground May 24th. Sorry about the fuzzy ones. Still learning the camera MACRO setting.

So close to harvest. Broke off a branch LSTing it last week smoked it yesterday. Oh my was very good. I think Im going to be very happy.

I'm going to chop the one in the square container this weekend (dont know strain) & the other 2 are N.L. gonna give them a couple weeks longer.

Will post shots of harvest.

OK I know there are others who can get these GIANT quantities off their plants & that mine are I admit a little ugly. But damn it their MY little babies grown from seed so Im still proud :)

First grow that I'm happy with.. nice smoke & fairly good quantities. grown only under 8 48" florescent tube lights. I really think the LST really helped out especially with the lighting I've been using.

The next one will be much better though.https://www.rollitup.org/images/smilies/hump.gif

The buds are good size. The ones I took of the tops & most of the close ups were too fuzzy to post. These pictures don't really show the plants well.

I think I will take them out one at a time today & take a picture of the whole plant out of the cabinet. They show much better than what I have posted.

One thing about the smell. The ventilation Im using is a joke. I bought a ceramic heater (the kind you might find under a secretary's desk) & I used small sheet metal screws & attached a 6X8 charcoal filter to the back of the fan so it draws the air out through the little $4 filter. Its the same one that goes in your range hood vent fan.

My father lives in my basement (mom passed a few months ago so we moved him in) & he can't smell it & he's 10 feet away.

After I dried the buds that broke off, they stunk bad (or good I guess :) ) My entire set up isn't $120.00 & works great. Once again for what I'm doing. Person use having fun. Not really caring about yields as a professional might.

I think I might make the cabinet a little bigger. height is ideal but the depth is a bit of an issue. Wish I would have made it 24" deep instead of 18"

Wish the leaves didn't look all brown tips & what not. So close to harvest I'm not overly worried about it but I see others on here at harvest time that look much better than mine.

Once again, the next ones will be better. I currently have 2 Autoflowering Bubba-licious? I think? Def fem auto flowering seeds I bought just cant remember the strain name. Its on a post here some where. They are 10 days under a cfl. I will move them to the cabinet as soon as I harvest these 3. Will post a journal on them I think

Thanks for the comments.

Wilting? Should I water more then? I know they look crappy (brown tips & what not) but I thought its because their close to the end of their lives.
Still a newbie, so still learning

I've sampled a bit before & it was wonderful so with more aging I suspect its just gotten better.

This is the seed I found so I have no idea what it is but this is the first time I've experience this kind of high. Very cerebral. Not tired at all. Damn almost want to go run a marathon.Babies 013.jpgDSCF8683.jpgDSCF8680.jpgBabies 005.jpgView attachment 1173389Babies 011.jpgBabies 006.jpgBabies 004.jpgBabies 016.jpgBabies 014.jpgView attachment 1173384DSCF8682.jpgView attachment 1173374DSCF8681.jpgView attachment 1173376Babies 009.jpgView attachment 1173379View attachment 1173380Babies 007.jpgBabies 015.jpgBabies 012.jpgBabies 013.jpgDSCF8683.jpgView attachment 1173384DSCF8682.jpg

I cut off most of the long buds so I could get the plant closer to the lights (see previous posts as to set up) Will the smaller ones, now that their closer to the lights keep getting larger or will they just ripen more?

I took a bud off one of the N.L. just to taste later. Its not a "crystally" as the unknown one so I might let the N.L. have a week or 2 more. All planted the same day though.

By the looks of the leaves I may be harvesting sooner than next week though :( Want to give them as long as they need though.

Any suggestions? & can you harvest a bit at a time? Leave the rest of the plant alone?

I think it might have something to do with the nutrients. It could also be the soil. What soil are you using? However, I think for a first time grow it is still pretty damn good. I just started growing my own and I only hope they look as good. I've only helped other people before so I know a little.

Soil was Miracle Grow (I know.. I know..) potting soil & I have been feeding them molasses, some organic fish emulsion stuff & some Bloom Builder I got at a local store. Its a blue liquid with 5-30-5 on the side. I feed them once a week type thing & water 2 times a week.

Enjoy growing man! I honestly don't know if its the fact that I grew it myself or if its the strain but it really is like nothing I've had before. can't wait to try the Norther Light. Its the single branch with the lighter. Going to try it Saturday. it wont be cured but it should still give me an idea of what the rest will be like.

I've been reading a thread on Root cloning. Very interesting. Once I harvest the one I'm going to try to revive the root ball. Water down some cloning starter & water the root ball with it. The thread sounds interesting so why not. Man, if I could get another plant like the one I just tried I would be VERY happy.

I suspect it was some kind of Sativa dominate strain. I've been smoking White Widow for a year now & the stone is mellow. Not upbeat at all. I know W.W. is a Indica strain so this giving me the opposite effect I assume its a Sativa.

Will post journal of root ball experiment :)

Im totally the wrong guy to ask anything. I don't measure, I don't keep track of almost anything. I know I put the seeds in the ground May 24th & I haven't killed them yet :)

I look in every day. I feed them about a 2 little bottle with a table spoon molasses, a decent glug of fish crap & a very small glug of the blue 5-30-5 liquid bloom stuff I got at wall-mart. I split that between the 3 plant then I put another 2 liter container of water split over the 3 plants. I feed once a week or every 5-6 days type thing. I water every second day or so.

Had a bad spot when we went camping. Thought I killed them all but they bounced back enough for me anyways :)

Can't wait to try the 2 different strains side by side. Should be dry enough Saturday morning for a 5 am wake N Bake (Wife-3 kids & dad living in the house. morning are my only quiet time)

OK. I harvested by princess & I now have what left (quite ugly I might add) sitting under 24 hours of CLF lights. I left a few little buds on & small leaves. I am hoping to get her back to vegging. I read it may take a couple weeks, but I should find new growth in a while.

Once I get some new growth I will have to learn how to clone. That's the next project :)

yea there 12s, still good, but i dont recall him sayin anything about them being 5s.
should get a set of 8 t-5 set up for veg, youll be very impressed, its what i use, but 2 of them going long ways. then a 600 hps to finish em up. connoisseur grade buds. and ofcoarse all organics. Might cost you a bit in the beggining, mabey 500, but for everything, light bill included, but figure that you can fit 6 plants under 600 watt, i do 5, but grow yourself 3 pounds for the winter, outdoor for the spring to fall grow. start over again in winter, but now you got the lighting you need. id buy a new sodium though. 50 bucks.
those lights aren't T-5
