picking and freezing

has anyone ever heard of picking a plant then putting it in the freezer for an hour or two to act like the first frost or like the end of the season is near. i heard by doing this the plant produces more resin on the Trichromes as a natural defence from the cold. anyones input on this?

sounds really interesting, and it doesnt sound farfetched, but whether or not its true... i have no clue. hopefully someone can enlighten us.
