im not totally sure on this subject, but ill take a guess and say you either are A. broke and dont have the loot to spend stupid amounts of cash on nutrients (that are ALL the same by the way, so save your money) or B. dont want to grow with miracle-grow or something cheap like that (even though it DOES work and it is fine IF you know what your doing). so im going to go with this.

If you want to veg a plant out without much nutrients. Go to the grow store and get the soiless mixture called ''promix'' or ''promix with hygrozime''....put your plant in that. go to your fish tanke (a gold fish is fine) and scoop the water out of the tank. put that water to the side and mix it with plain spring, or tap water. add either a few coffee grinds (the kind you drink) or boil water and dip the coffee in like a teabag. mix that to your fish water along with plain water and feed with that. THIS WILL WORK for vegging. it will have everything it needs just from this, although there are better ways. this is a cheap effiecent way of doing things, i have done it personally and it does work, so do not let anyone discourage you or try to sell you stupid priced nutrients.

As for flowering plants, thats a little bit of a different story, they will need a little more than pond water and coffee grind lol, BUT that doesnt mean it cant be found cheap and easily, im just not sure off the top of MY head, someone else though, im sure can add to this. doing exactly what i said will be FINE for any plant up until about a month old or 4-5 weeks veg, from there and into flower they need some other stuff also. either way, good luck :peace:

for flowering i use banana peels, peanut shells, almond shells, and molasses. boil the banana peels for 5 minutes. during the last minute of the boil, add you're assorted shells!

lol thanks for imput. yes i dont have much money to spend on my "garden" unless i absolutly need to. but i have not had any probs with my grows so far because they are autos that arnt alive long enough to use all nutes in my soil but i am moving on to normal plants and iv tallyed up my nutrient value of my soil and my phosphorus values where lowest by 50% and i didn't think this would cut it. i am probly going to buy some phosphorus rich guano but was wonering if there was somthing i could use which was cheaper. lol alot of very usefull tips ak thanks very much for such precise info.

Synthetic P is much cheaper but not better. High P guanos are your best bet. Partially composted chicken manure is high in P but should be used very carefully.

Cheap Organic Phos Sources= None. The "cheapest" is soft rock phosphate, but is only a 0-3-0. Basically, you get the amount of Phos you pay for. Higher grade (%), higher cost. Fish Bone meal (Dr. Earth) is great, as it also contains a lot of micronutrients.

Cheap Synthetic = lots.

For a smaller garden, I would spring for a $30 bucket of 0-8-1 guano by Earth Juice. Indonesian guano from Sunleaves is great, so is Vital's 0-9-0.

There are lot's of Nitrogen sources, including fish water....., but your plants will thrive more with some substantial food. In general, I will use a 8-4-4 guano mixed in to my soil to start the run. Then a week before I flip, I top dress with a 7-7-2. Then 3 weeks into flower I top dress 0-9-0, and again 0-9-0 3 weeks later. All of this is watered in with A.A.C.T..

If you want to keep it super simple, cheap-ish, and organic, just give them Dr.Earth's 4-4-4 all the way through.

As far as boiling banana peels and nut husks to flower.......good luck with that:) I would like to hear the reasoning behind that. I have several tea recipes on my site.

lol junior i dont doubt you but everyone feels different maybe tea thinks your method is not to his taste and that he feels it isnt for him p.s. first smoke of white widow since harvest before curing and its good maybe a little to harsh but what can you do :) also i think tea was just wondering about the powers behind the tea recipie

I've looked in to this and messed around with it some. Your best bet is to just buy a bag of something like Espoma Garden-Tone and top dress a 1/4 cup on your soil, and cover with a couple inch layer of ewc/compost/soil and water. $10 for the bag. You could bubble some of this too and water it in that way, but the top dress is easy and effective. I do this around the 3'rd week of flower for a 9 week strain. I believe Garden-Tone is 4-3-3 FWIW.

Banana peels are high in K.....a banana peel/molasses tea is great for the last third of flower.

Citrus plants grow sweeter fruit with buried fish scrapes. Scales, guts, bodies minus the filets work. Not sure if processed fish additives do the same. Also works on Surinam cherries. Very high in vitamin C, but very sour to taste. Very sweet when fish parts hurried along side. Know that from personal expirence.
