Phosphorus and potassium deficiency ?

Hello everyone, started a few weeks ago, going worst and worst. I tried to lower the nutes, went worst; tried to feed them more then, not much of a change yet. The soil PH is 7,1, water is always 6,7. I'm using Dynamics N3 soil. Temp 20° - 29° C, RH 40 - 50%.

The plants keep turning her stems into a purple/red color, meanwhile the leaves tips are curling more and more, with brown/yellow dots and areas. Growth stopped 2 weeks ago aprox, i don't know what to do next.

Light green foliage with tips going up

use 3-4 grams in 20L of water. This usually increases the Electrical Conductivity of the solution by about 0.06ec. This EC corresponds to a ppm increase of about 30-40.

Epsom Salt is 10% Magnesium and 14% Sulfur. The remainder is just water. An extra 30ppm of Epsom salt will increase the Magnesium ppm level by about 12 to 15ppm. With regards to Magnesium, a common ppm level for that element is around 50ppm. Just an extra 12ppm of Epsom Salt can increase your levels by 25%. You sure don't need much of the stuff.

The problem with Canna A+B, and Cal-Mag+ for that matter, is that these nutrients lock you into a ratio of Calcium to Magnesium. As the buffer of Calcium is retained in the coco other Cations have to compete for uptake. Earlier on, when the coco is fresh and clean and the plant is Vegetating and requires high levels of Calcium with lower levels of Magnesium, the system works fine. Problems arise when there is too much Calcium present later in flowering when the plant is looking for more mag.

By having a system which can add Magnesium independent of Calcium you can manipulate this ratio and dial in to the plant's needs much easier. In my own quest for a Magnesium supplement I have used Organicare Huvega, Humboldt Nutrients SeaMag, Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy, and Cutting Edge Solutions Mag Amped. Of them all the Mag Amped is definitely the best of the bunch and yet it still doesn't really compare to something simple as Epsom Salt.

Save yourself the cash and just use the Epsom. A pinch in 5L is probably more than enough.

A good option for you would be to dissolve 100g of Epsom Salt into 1000ml of clean water. This gives you a 1:10 solution at a concentration of 1% Magnesium. I would be running that solution at about 2ml per Liter later on in flowering, and probably about 1ml per liter earlier on.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I'll go to check those products and get some to solve this problem, it's giving me a headache. My fertilizers are not very good and trying not to overfeed, i'm using low nute/water ratios. I hope to get better ones add up thing that are missing from them, like in this case Ca and Mg it seems.

I'm in the beginning of week 7, when do you recommend to start flushing ?

The ladies are getting better, started maturing the flowers faster now, i think the leaves will not fully recover, hope it continues growing.

I'm in the beginning of week 7, when do you recommend to start flushing ?

The ladies are getting better, started maturing the flowers faster now, i think the leaves will not fully recover, hope it continues growing.

I do NOT flush...

If you cure good there is no need to flush.

But any way the last week you can give 3/4 days just water and cut the water completely the last 3 days so you dry faster .

Understanding what you're feeding your plant is very important. Combining products from different lines can also cause you problems as well. All nutrient companies formulate their products differently.


It's all a guessing game until you start understanding nutrient profiles (its very easy and you can try them on our site). Your plants want macro and micro elements at different stages of growth in correct "ratios". Sadly nutrient companies won't let you know what you're actually feeding, so it purely an educated guessing game.

Is my first run, i was experimenting a lot trying to understand the dynamics, without much success i might add.

As i commented before, i was fertilizing light, trying to not overfeed, maybe that pop up nutrients deficiency. So in this 2 weeks i gave them a strong dose of my bloom fert + Ca and Mg + Candy. The ladies started growing again, developing flowers in size and smell. Now you can smell the sugar and chlorophyll.

I'll post pictures again. The last 3 pictures is from the plant that was worst, still growing slow, but more confident now.

I appreciate all the comments, trying to help a guys new into this world. A lot to learn yet, with the desire to do so.

Hello, i have 300w COB LED, in a few days will be improved to 500w. The spaces is 3' 4" x 3' 4" sqf or 1 sqm.

Tie her down and get this light closer man, also clean her up alittle and remove most of the completely damaged fan leaves.

My point of view...

That they do more harm than benefit..

Those leaves are pretty damaged to the level it cost the plant power just to maintain it alive while this power can be used in making new growth..

Those leaves hide the bud sites that if they got light they will develop alot better..

I removed all the damaged leaves and they did fine, better than i thought. Harvested 28/3, dried for 5 days with low RH (35-55) and after cutting the buds, all of them to a Jar.

Sitting at 65% RH, 18° C. There is a strong odor when i opened the jar today, very strong but not like ammonia, pungent. I'll keep an eye in the jarto avoid mold.

This month i have no money to buy new jars, so i re-used a big one (3 kg). I hope it does. No idea the weight tbh.
